henry d
Hope you don`t use a semi auto! The one with dented primer was in a bag when I was loading!!!!!!!Only saw it at the end of the day, apparently another loader had just popped(?) it in when it failed to fire
magman
yes i do use a semi but i would put them through me lincoln 3" mag check barrels no problem the one with the dented primer should be in the bottom of a pit not on the table

Piebob
I'm about to show my ignorance here........... :*) After getting through the intitial "hang-fire" situation with the cartridge that didn't fire, can it go off at any later date (like an unexploded grenade or bomb) or has it missed it's chance if you know what I mean? It's Rainin White Feathers
its best to wait for a min before opening chamber after a misfire or 'hard cap'. then dispose of in safest wat possible i.e. find a Baikal with a firing pin like a sledge hammer and fire it!! ChrisNicholls
Looks to me like all the shells standing are Gamebore, the one lying flat looks like a Hull shell. Always thought these companies made quality ammo, but for shells to have lumps missing from the cap must surely be poor quality control. Must add I have never had any problems personally with either. henry d
If you managed to get the mis-shapen headed ones into the chamber and fired you could have had a problem ejecting and even left the plastic sleeve in the chamber! The next shot would have cleared your ears out ,and you wouldn`t have to worry about cutting your finger nails ever again ....remember don`t mess about if it`s even slightly dodgey is a 10p cartridge worth it? enniskillen
I only ever use cartridge belts and fill it again when empty, that way i can always check what im putting in.Never leave cartridges in a bag u never know what u'll get from the bottom of it. Can just imagine what harm one of them would do(no shooting for a while).
Gareth0689
Was shooting DTL, this was in the top barrel, i didnt notice until i opened the gun after firing only the bottom barrel
the last engineer
Very suprised you didnt notice that when you put it in , colud have shot the lot out the end by the looks of it , when you think about it though with the millions and millions of shells shot yearly ,the duds are a very small percentage ,give cudos to the companies for the quality of their products . henry d
I was only trying to alert people to the dangers of blindly stuffing cartridges into the chamber. The last time I had a problem was when I was wildfowling and a cartridge jammed in the breech of my 11-87 and I had to travel home 35 miles with a loaded shotgun strapped to the passenger seat, and when I got home I had to put a cleaning rod down the muzzle to assist opening the gun  I was cacking myself at the time! funny now though. dunganick
got a damaged cart today, had a large ding in the side and 2 cuts in the brass its the 1st ive ever had which i have not deemed suitable to shoot in probably 15000 shots since i started regular clay shooting 1 and a bit yrs ago. however have come across a fair number of rimfire carts in my time (a little over 9 year now) of shooting that. M ROBSON
WB, Not many forces will grant that nowadays, maybe 20 years ago. I was 8 when I got my cert and was one of the youngest in Scotland at that time. I've been told by Fife police that they wouldn't entertain anyone under 13 at the moment. Mark.
