Times fast approaching and the New Year will soon be here. Having managed to kick smoking some time back now, I have now decided that I really need to loose some weight. So come tomorrow i'm cutting back in a big way. After tomorrows traditional full cooked english breakfast that is.

What's your new year resolution?

I don't believe in making New Years Resolutions, basically because they are promisses that are often made on the spur of the moment that are all too often get broken in a very short time. What I will say this is that I will try to keep up with my quit smoking (Going very well at the moment after over 9 weeks, thanks), I will try to get a bit fitter (Now so easy when you have a heart and lung problem) and I will continue trying to do at least one person a good deed every day.

For those of you that do make New Years resolutions - I wish you all the luck in the world.

To Everyone - Have a Very Happy and Prosperous 2010

not made any for this year.

I always seem to forget about them after a couple of months anyway!

last years was: 'don`t put off until tomorrow what you can do today'

think i`ll just try to pick that one up again,

oh, and try to finish some of the winter projects.

best wishes to all

for a sparkley 2010

I'm another one for doing something about weight and fitness

I'm getting fed up with puffing and blowing round a clay ground and being too out of breath to shoot when I get to the stand

I started piling weight on when I quit smoking 5 years ago, but (touch wood) I seem to have reached a plateau, so now would seem a good time to try and do something about it. After a steady weight rise over the 5 years, I seem to have levelled out at about 17 - 17.5 stone

I don't carry it well, because I'm not very big boned. I know blokes who are heavier than me, but they don't look as fat and they are much fitter, because they've got the frame to carry it
