Evil Elvis
Who said there was no wind? many of the targets were wind affected yesterday, some stands were never the same twice!!! Well done on your
Markio
Not bad Cat. And despite the long drive and early start etc you still had time to read MCs book of excuses?
Evil Elvis
I was wind-affected yesterday nugget.gif Sorry dude. Where will the scores be posted? Does anyone know?
Chard
Sorry dude. Where will the scores be posted? Does anyone know? I thought they would be on the Essex Gun website, but the ones on there at the moment are only the shooters who are in the prizes. I thought they posted the whole thing last year
MC
Whoa........hold on, all I can say is that the Catmeister is still on form. We started on the red course at 9.15, a good squad, (no muppets), straighted No 1, missed one R/L midi on 2, straighted 3, then 4, then 5, dropped one on 6, going great then had a total doomer on 7 , also on 8.. , dropped one on 9, a couple on 10 and 11, but straighted 12, finished on 84, not brilliant by my exemplary standards , but a lot better than some, (Fauldsy could only do an 87), sorry to sound like MC but a lot of the targets were wind affected which didn't help things. The word on the street was that the Black course was shooting a lot harder due to the wind, and that was certainly the case looking at the scores, Luke Riddington on 71, Carl Bloxham on 78, I really needed to get my act in gear to grind out any sort of a score. Stand No 1 was a total nightmare, missed 5 ex 10, some of the birds were literally on the deck by the time you were on them due to the wind, we all struggled on that one, pulled my socks up a bit after that, but still kept missing the odd one or two to card an 82, total 166. Not too unhappy with that as it blew a hooley today, most of the scorers reckoned it was at least 10 birds harder than yesterday, when there was no wind, ah well, C'est La Vie , not a total meltdown, so roll on Hodnet..!! I've taken some random photos of the scoreboard, will post them tomorrow, don't think there's any PW members on there, but who knows..?? Well shot to all of the Forum members who made the effort, there are many more shoots of this calibre up and coming for those who are CPSA members, shooting quality targets, a real test of shooting skill. Cat. Still on form? Who on earth are you trying to kid apart from yourself. So if reading your post correctly I shot 4 more on the black course the Luke Riddington who is the Essex Sporting team captain if I remember correctly and also only 3 less than Essex Masters winner Carl Bloxham? Wind my *****, there wasn't any in Essex today. Except where Baz lives. I can live with that Excuses, excuses, excuses. But one thing is right, Roll on Hodnet. And if my maths are correct I shot a 144 (25 clays more than last year) and you shot 166 (1 mare than last year) then you didn't make the 1 clay a stand majority that you needed. ( We can also see who has improved and who is just mediocre) How would the referees know that it is 10 clays harder today than yesterday? Is the requirement for being a referee that you have a full photographic memory and you can remember every scorecard that passes in front of your eyes? Or do all referees have to shoot the entire course each day so they can pass on little snippets to the fading elite to fuel their excuses? Catamong
How would the referees know that it is 10 clays harder today than yesterday? When you eventually get to learn a bit more about this game, you'll know what the scorers meant. I'm not offering excuses, as I said, I'm not too unhappy with my total score, but it did blow like **** today, that cost everybody targets, fact. Cat. Peter De La Mare
lol, I missed a trick then in that excuse, as Wednesday it was ******* with rain AND windy. 166 still a good result anyway, well done Edited April 11, 2010 by Peter De La Mare
Mungler
Usual p-take aside, I would have thought it would have been higher than 166. If (B class) Chard hadn't unravelled on the last 3 stands he would have topped that. I know that's a bit of the shoulda coulda woulda, but there it is. And after all you can either shoot, or you can't. Not offering excuses? not much :P Christ on a bike Pete, You had better get back to Hepworth and pick your trophy up, Wind AND rain must have cost everyone about 50 clays.

Yes, of course you're dead right..........no disresrect to Chard who shot brilliantly over the first 100, but IF ONLY I'd have got all 6 lottery numbers last week instead of just 2.............I only needed 4 more....If only.. Hi Emmsy, You were looking very good in "A" class when I left, I reckon you'll get a draw.. Well shot Matey, I hope you're coming to Hodnet, God knows we gonna need a few big scorers if those Essex Boy scores are anything to go by. Cat. You certainly shoot like a good ole Northern boy and at least us Northerners try to stick together (******* students excluded) and congratulate or commiserate as appropriate. Are you at Hodnet next weekend for the FITASC shoot? Mr Potter
Catamong
Cheers Mr P, I don't think there's much Northern blood in me, in fact I'm ashamed to admit most of my family are from near Wivenhoe, in Essex, it does beg the question, just how do I keep winning shoots with such a dodgy pedigree..?? I won't be doing Hodnet next weekend, I'm probably not shooting at all, it's a pity because it'll probably be the best FITASC shoot of the year, I've heard entries are not that good, which is surprising. Good luck if you are shooting it, (I'm deffo doing the World Compak Champs in Spain in August). Cat.

And to be fair Cat has a point, the only thing that comes out of Wivenhoe are Arty drunken types. I never did pay attention at school and only managed the drunken bit.
