Royboy
I was thinking of changeing my cartriges from Express pigeon specials 30g numbers 6s to Eley HB Pigeon 32g number 6s. Is this a good change. iam roost shooting this weekend and thought this might be better for the high birds. Iam going to my local gun shop for 250 tomorrow but didnt want to do the wrong thing and buy them if there cr*p. Cheers
stirky
I have just about shot off 250 of them, i will be buying some more soon, they are very good, the ones i got were fibre wad 6,1/2 shot size. Also an advantage being red casses if you shoot a semi auto
ferreter10
Eley HBs are excellent. I prefer them to pigeon special because they have more killing power. I would recommend these to anyone, best pigeon cartridge around!

starlight32
I use a 36g in 5 or 6's load for roost shooting. I have just picked up some Rio Royal pigeon 36g 6's. I used them the other week roosting and was more than happy with them.

Alycidon
Pigeon is a tough baby especially with a stuffed crop. I would recommend 5 shot if 40 yard plus shots are probable. Cant see there would be much difference between one brand of 6s and another, they all work given they are put in the right place. Find one you like and stick with it. you will have bad days and good days but you will come to have confidence in the cartridge when things go wrong. Actually I have 300 green ones, 6s, shops own label and ****. I cant get on with them at all, I only bought them while waiting for some more Eley. John_R
Prices really do vary so widely, but I reckon they have crept up anyway. I have been using Eley Hi Flyer, and a few months back 250 cost me £44. Today they were £48, and the Eley First had gone from £35 to £42! Alycidon
Eley had a big price increase Jan 1st. I ordered in December and am still waiting for them, of course I will now have to pay new price with the increased VAT. Shop would not take payment early. crazyfarmerboy
I allways buy the cheapest cartrige my local suppliers have the pigeons, have used a few different one's, I have used both eley Hb and realtree and i can not fault them, usually the cheapest and the one's i shoot most regulaly, clear pigeons, i felt they had a lower killing rate, apart from that most of them do the job, I stay away from clear pigeon but 90% of the time get eley's

MerseaDavid
I would say they are better than the lyalvale But it is all down to personal preference, if you are used to a certain cartridge it is worth sticking to them
