digger
mate of mine has finally realised that a tvr is the sensible choice when choosing a proper car.as hes not a hairdresser a porche is out,nor is he an estate agent so there goes an m3.basically he has the funds to buy a choice of three=the griffith, chimera or cerbera. for those in the know is there a vast difference between the three maintenance wise ? he is aware of the reliability issue but lets face it,if i drive past a broken down porche i laugh my tits off, drive by a tvr and i`ll stop. lb,looks like you may have a customer ! any advice appreciated as hes off to the gambia soon and will let me have his car when hes away
lurcherboy
Cerbera for me Digger but thats based on it's curves Reliability will be down to what engine, driveline etc. that he chooses. BTW, I charge a higher rate for handbuilt quality vehicles LB
dunganick
grifith for me, but then im biast the old mans got one no problems in nearly 10 years of owning it, 1 radiator from stone chips, the grifiths cerb and chim all suffer badly from stone chips, other than this, try and get the rover v8, the tvr engines are useless, tuscans have been known to need a rebuild after 25,

Axe
A friend of mine had a Speed 6 and it ate Porsche for breakfast. Furiously fast car, soundede good went good, but kept breaking down. In the end he got rid of it as it spent more time in Blackpool than in his garage!. I'd like the Chimera confy, sweet sounding motor. If I had the money, i'd definitely go with YP suggestion, the Noble. SNAKEBITE
I remember hearing the quote from wassis name the head chappie at TVR when asked why they went away from the Rover V8, he replied "I don't want anything German in my bl**dy cars!" dunganick
nobels are nice, i would probably have one over a tvr if it was an option, problems are theres ****** all storage space, and on the earlier models if you needed to get into that 2.5 mondeo engine (now a 3.0) you needed a screw driver to get the pannel off nice cars though
Axe
problems are theres ****** all storage space No room for the deaks then!
tenbears10
Yeah how do you get a spaniel in a TVR? :*)
dunganick
can get a silenced rifle across the 'back seat' of the tvr, and the boot is massive, but the noble is a bit of a different story (not that i have one ) once saw 5 people in a cerbra, that was value for money , dont think the back passengers thought much of the leg room Edited October 31, 2005 by dunganick
Axe
Perhaps the rear wing on the Noble could be modified to take a few rifles. After all, its excesively big. Imagine explaining that away, when ya get stuck in the field entrance!! Edited October 31, 2005 by Axe
Fisherman Mike
These TVR are only as good as the engine which in most is a production unit from some other manufacturer, Rover, Ford etc. If you want to spend that sort of Money get a proper hand built Sports car, reliable with plenty of grunt and street cred......a Marcos Whats the difference between a TVR driver and a farrowing sow ? On the sow the tits are on the outside.
Rabbitraider
I normally quite like TVR and have done for a while, but i have to admit the noble is a brilliant bit of engineering. But....... the new TVR Sagaris is lovely, and the guy who set up the handling on the Noble set up the Sagaris, so give TVR a bit of slack as they are coming up in the world, even though it is owned by the Russians
