Cranfield
Antivirus = Grisoft AVG. http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Fre...4-10342876.html Firewall = ZoneAlarms. http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html Both are free. I uninstalled Norton AV and Firewall about 2 years ago and my PC has never behaved better. There seems to be a lot of issues with Norton and Microsoft XP. Catamong
Use Mozilla Firefox - it's free and seems to stop all of the **** getting on your PC. Double H
Bazooka Joe
Hawkeye, You have a PM. If it doesn't work, use AVG, it's free, not the best, but it will keep 99% of the **** off your Comp. Double H, Firefox is a good browser, it stops Ad-aware, Spyware etc, not virus's, worms, trojans, you need a Antivirus for that. Bazooka Joe. Cranfield
henryd, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it quite a few times, but every time it went back to playing up. The annoying thing is, that you pay good money for it and the Tech Support is nonexistant.
tenbears10
The best anti virus .................. an apple
Hardy
I beleive AVG to be pretty good too - don't use it myself as I have access to Sophos. If your using genuine microsoft windows (perish the thought anyone wouldn't ) you can download Miscrosoft anti spyware for free which will increase your protection. If your using Windows XP, service pack 2 contains its own firewall software as well. There are a couple of other things you can get for free too: Ad Aware SE this will check for adware & spyware on your pc & remove it. Pest Patrol used to be free but now seems to be a 30 day trial before you have to pay for it. Mozilla Firefox is very good browser software with the advantage that as it's not widley used there are less people trying to find holes in it. It is becoming more popular though & undoubtably some exploits will be found. tenbears - don't rely on the apple for virus protection - as with firefox it's just that there aren't as many about so less emphasis on attacking them. There are mac viruses out there too (and linux ones but they are even rarer bazzarly). The only 100% safe anti virus solution is ..... Never connect to the internet, any other external media or load anything from a cd/dvd/floppy. Not the most practical solution I admit! Things can go wrong I admit but there are NO mac virus' I have ever heard of and I work in IT. My first post was ment in jest I don't want to start an arguement.
