steve_b_wales
Any of the ones you mentioned will do the job. Also, have a look at the CZ 452 range. They are brilliant.
kyska
Any of the ones you mentioned will do the job. Also, have a look at the CZ 452 range. They are brilliant. Agreed, with the spare cash you could get the CZ trigger sweetened if you need to and still have change!

boz
You won't go wrong with the Anschutz. I have had both the 22LR and the 17HMR for many years now and use them for work, 100% reliable and accurate. CZ = value for money but you do have to get the trigger sorted. If you appreciate nice kit, get the Anschutz.

Zapp
Since you are not selling a gun I will move this out of "Gun Sales". Oh, and buy a CZ 452 ZB

njc110381
Another vote for the CZ. Get a varmint if you want to target shoot with it and get the trigger sorted. Then spend the money you've saved on a better scope! A CZ with a good scope will be a million times better than an Anschutz or Sako with a cheap one. If I had to decide between the two I'd go with an Anschutz over a Quad.
Dekers
Anschutz make excellent rimfires and always have. Cut my teeth on their target tools soon after they started life, what a joy to use after the BSA Martini!! Accuracy and performance wise the normal average field shooter will tell no difference to a CZ though, perhaps a TINY bit on the range. If you are talking value for money field guns there is no contest, CZ wins easy! If you are talking a superb gun that looks the part, then probably Anschutz! If you are talking about scratching your pride and joy..... well.... you will cry whatever, but probably more when you scratch that wood on your Anschutz! Decisions...easy for me, I have 3 CZ rimfires!!
Paddy Galore!
i've got sako in 17 and an anni in 22lr, both way better than CZs, spend wisely and you only need to buy once, I've had 2 cz 452's and i hated them. don't buy one, you'll only regret it. BTW, the anni only cost me £375 s/h with a weaver grand slam 4-14x40 (about £500 worth of glass alone) from a guy on here not so long back, wait awhile and one will turn up. If you do go for a SAKO then i'd recommend a finnfire, probably the best 22lr around.
Renfield
The CZs have gone up in price a hell of a lot in recent months, so they're no longer as good value for money as they used to be, IMO. They're close to pricing themselves out of the market, I think. I was all set to buy the CZ in .17 HMR until I tried a Weihrauch 60 J. By the time you've paid a gunsmith to sweeten the trigger mechanism on the CZ, you might as well have paid the extra £100 for the better made Weihrauch, with a sweet 2 stage trigger as standard. That's what I did, anyway. If I was going for a semi-auto then I'd go for the Anshultz. I'm looking out for a second hand one myself in .22, but if Weihrauch did a semi-auto .22 I'd go for that. I'm very happy with the HMR.
bullet boy
I also had a CZ American in 17HMR.I only sold it to make way for a Centrefire. The CZ guns are excellent and wont break the bank either.
RichPWRR
Not quite sure why everyone seems to think it will cost a lot to sweeten the trigger on the CZ. I have just bought a trigger kit from Rimfire Magic which cost £10 and you can either do it yourself or i paid £5 for my local RFD to fit it. It is now much sweeter and as good as any.
