ph5172
The way i read it is that Butter Breast Turkey is £3.50 Joints - Pork and the others listed are 2 for £8 A completely different set of foodstuffs, admitidly they could have done with cutting the tags in two and spreading them out

jasper3
this often catches a lot of people out..ive notice and nearly got caught, lucky my misses use to manage another supermarket.... what they do is put a price per weight..Ie £3.00 per kilo..but the joint might weigh 1'5 kilo's making the joint £4.50 personaly..i would rather pay more for better tasting local meat from the local butcher

KFC
I've found this in most super markets. You do have to be aware. The one I found most common is to see loose Oranges @ 30p each or a bag of the same Oranges special offer @ £1.50. except there's only four Oranges in the bag A few weeks ago I noticed Digestive biscuits at 35p per pack and on the shelf above the same biscuits were on offer as a special twinpack for 78p Got to be careful and read the label
3xspringer
Every little helps........... I read it as 600gr joints so nearly £4.00 a LB
flexouk
They also had 500ml drinks, any two for £1.50. Not bad unless you buy the Iron Brew thats 68 pence each. As some people have said, half the special offers dont work out cheaper. Take at look at the cost per 100grms/each and quite a lot of the time you'll find that it works out more expensive. I'm looking foward to my leg of pork tonight, direct from the farm behind my house!

STOCKY A391
The age old favourite was to have the most expensive items at eye line on the shelves , as people can't be ***** to reach down a bit lower !

Jim Sarakun
i bloody hate that! i was chatting to a butcher in manchester and explained how the machine works. its a complete con! Me too, and when that big fat joint is cooked, it is half the size and swimming in a puddle of salty water. mick miller
I haven't eaten supermarket **** meat for years. Firstly, its not been hung so there is virtually zero flavour. Secondly, its injected with all sorts of stuff to increase the weight so it looks like good value but in reality you're been done. Thirdly, I can't stand all the packaging that has to be thrown away. Finally, anything that comes delivered on a tampon so you don't see the blood is just too sanitised for my liking, if you don't like blood DON'T EAT MEAT!!!!! Supermarket bacon takes the biscuit. You put an 8" rasher under the grill and retrieve a 2" stub 10 minutes later, meanwhile the pan is swimming in salty brine...yum. Thankfully my butcher still makes bacon the old way, dry cured in salts and seasoning for two weeks. It hardly shrinks at all under the grill and is tasty to boot. The only thing I buy from a supermarket is cat food and washing powder!

DaveK
UUUrgh! I couldn't eat cat food.. Tastes better than washing powder
mick miller
Both are better than a Tesco's value pork joint I assure you. The washing powder is used to flush away the taste of the cat food.
