Daz2381
Sorry should of mentioned its a s200 , as for the single shot it depends on the application of the air rifle and if you want to use magazines for multiple shots in quick succession. In some competitions I think single shot rifles are the norm but someone will be able to tell you that on here

aaron airgunner
siingle shots are fine for hunting, dont let anyone tell you different. basically, air arms s400s and air arms s200's have the same power, and same deadly accuracy just the s400 has more astheatics and is prettier. also in my opinion the s400 stock is slightly more comfortable than the s200 stock. of course the s200 is much cheaper and if you want a gun which will do the job fine, but aint too pretty it will be fine for you. i prefer the s400 myself but if your on a budget then the s200 is fine. nicholiath
s 200 is a very good rifle at the right price! if you want you can add for about £60 a 10 shot rotary magazine option. My daughter used to shoot HFT with an s 200 and was as accurate as my daystate.

The s200 is so very quiet and is up there with the best of them. I had one once and i was also going to buy an s400, but i chose a hw100 instead
Clubshot
I have a AA400 in .22 Great Single Shot Rifle Price Difference - Most would opt for the 400 Worth Checking out Brococks AimX Rifle - Especially the XL Contour Around £375.00 New and Made in England - Good for well over 60 Shots in .177 And can be used by most builds including Youngsters BOB/R
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Got a S400, did have a S200. Both are very nice, go for a S400 though. The S200 will suit some better, go for a try out in the local shop if they have any in stock.
bruno22rf
I picked up a complete S200 .177 outfit for £275 including a 12ltr diving bottle and scope/moderator.I cannot think of any gun in this price range that would beat it on any count.Watch the for sale ads on all the A/G sites and on here and buy a bit at a time-took me nearly 4 months but i enjoyed the experience and really appreciate the gun.I would'nt part with mine for all the tean china-this very evening i shot 3 pigeons stone dead in about 30 seconds-i think they were about to enjoy a romping session and were,nt really paying attention-S200 at less than 30 yards and it was goodnight vienna for the trio. gaz-loc
s200 is worth every penny.. and in comparison to its rival the bsa ultra its a far better set up more accurate than the person on the trigger and a good shot count cant go wrong
colin lad
Hi,get a AA S410 .177 and a divers bottle, you wont get better than that, bin there done it ,have a look on the air arms owners club (aaoc),good site with plenty help. DITTO i have had the 200 in single a good gun then got the 10 shot mag conversion made it a great gun traded it in for aa 410 classic in .177 and thats a fantastic gun, the single shot is a good gun but the 10 shot gives you that bit extra, just got back from farm where there was 5 bunnies in a small area got 3 before the others had worked out what was going on couldnt of done that with single shot colin
Colster
I have the S400 in FAC and love it, they're both good guns but personally I think the s200 is as ugly as a horse falling down stairs. I would have preferred the S410 for the multishot but decided my FAC Air would have to be second hand after buying my LR brand new so when the S400 Xtra came up (with a BTAS regulator) for £275 I couldn't resist. I then just got a multishot kit for it and think it was well worth the money (especially at night). The FAC version is a little heavy but I tend to lay up with it anyway so not really a problem, it shoots better than I ever will and will blow a hole through a pigeon at 55yards but even the non-FAC ones are spot on. For a non-FAC I'd probably look for a .177 S410 second hand but any model/calibre will do you proud.
Colster
Nice looking one in the for sale section currently - http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...howtopic=125934
mart46
I bought an S400 .177 2 weeks ago and finally got out with it last night. It is so accurate you wouldn't believe it. I ended up with 5 rabbits and a magpie, and I'm really pleased with it. I bought it s/h (only 5 months old) with silencer for £300, but I'm sure there are better deals than that out there. tango
next on my list is the s200, for the price you cant go wrong, at the end of the day if your gonna be out in the field on the floor in the rain etc, id go for the cheaper option, especially as there as accurate as each other. and come it dont look that bad..the mk1 was a bit ugly admittedly though, bit to square for me
bruno22rf
The S200 being ugly is a benefit to all airgunners on a budget-it keeps the used price down-they do look like some kind of 70's throwback but pick one up and you will be amazed how easy they are to hold on target. Dekers
Get a 410, it's a few £ more but is the way to go, save up and wait longer if required, the multi shot 410 make you lazy but confident, like it or not it is the future today. MITCHF
Air Arms build good, accurate rifles. You won't be disappointed with 200/400/410. Try them all and maximize your budget then buy what "you" want. Personally I shoot an s410 and can't fault it, fit, power, reliable and accurate. Somebody said the 200 is ugly, got to agree with that one That's the end of the night Kebab shop pull Shop around, don't worry about buying private. Good luck Edited May 29, 2010 by MITCHF
