markyboy
hi guys! im addicted to lamping and im very interested in knowing alot more about foxes rather than just go and kill them. im just wondering this area that im lamping is on the coast, and the groung im lamping is flat with sheep and not alot else. the last 2 foxes ive shoot have been in very good condition, but there dosent seem to be alot on offer for food. what will these foxes be living off? theres no rabbits, ive seen alot of foxes digging away at the ground for worms i assume? but they wont keep them fed long. there is a caravan park near by. will they hang around for scraps out of bins? i saw 4 foxes in 4 fields last night, but there dosent seem alot to offer for food, with cubs out needing fed whats classed as a meal for a fox? will they need to kill say a rabbit a night to keep them well fed? thanks
CharlieT
They will eat everything and anything from worms, frogs, mice through to a dead cow if they find one. I have seen them in my garden picking raspberries off the canes !. Foxes will travel miles looking/hunting for food and you would be suprised how many beetles and mice they can catch during their travels. wymberley
Hi, Any members who've stayed at Haven's Sandy Bay (Devon Cliffs) holiday park will probably know where McDonalds is located. I shoot the adjoining land. We don't have too much trouble finding some of the dens; just look for the burger boxes and chip bags. Brings a whole new meaning to ******** on your own doorstep! Cheers

ollie
I live beside the coast and our syndicate is located beside the shore. We have shot a lot of foxes at night on the shore; they will wander around the weed when the tide is out and eat crabs and other shellfish. I have also saw them eating frogs on occassions. As someone has already said they are opportunists and will pretty much eat anything.
beatingisbest
He is an opportunist and a survivor...all the above and more!! Very true! The one thing to remember about foxes is that they will do nearly anything to survive.
