eddoakley
Theres a parker hale in .308 on gun trader for £75. Its from a shop, surely it has to be in good working order??? I'm looking for a .308 (or will be by the weekend ) and figure that the cheaper the gun the more i have for scope.... So would it really be worth buying a gun that cheap??? Any thoughts? steve_b_wales
I've just picked up a Parker Hale 'Midland' .308 for not too much money. It has to be in proof when sold. Parker Hale rifles are good and solid. You could get the seller to give you a written agreement that if the rifle does not group to your liking (not his) then you get a refund. This is quite a normal practice I've been told.

I bought a Brno zkk601 in 243 for £100. Shoots spot on, try before you buy if possible. All depends if your willing to take a chance on it really. Redgum
I was a little concerned about buying an 30yr old browning and the shop said if it didnt shoot well and was not fit for the purpose it was meant for then I would be within my legal rights ta take it back. As it happens I ended up saving a few more pennies and bought a new rifle.

mereside
hey ed i baught a parker and hale a little bit more than that but it groups under half an inch at 100 metres i just wanted something to get me going. when it arrived it had dings and scratches but the bolt and barrel where like new .it had just been chucked in a cubard anyway i stripped all the varnish off and oiled the stock and its a minter. they where built to last and all seem to be very accurate go on its got to be worth a look failing that the one on gun trader at 140 odd pounds looks great, all the best wayne

Paul223
I sold my parker hale midland 2100 in .308 last year, in the auction at chester, it made £35 ( i even left the bases and rings on ), there a rough gun compared to the tikka, no were near as nice an action, but it would shoot into a 2 inch circle at 100 yards all day long with a 'cheap' 20 year old scope on it more than enough for any deer
