hi all fox and vermin shooting wanted in essex area mainly for fox i already shoot over 500 acres with .22 and .17 rim but my farmer wont allow centre fire rifles getting a .223 and sound mod at the end of the month so will just need the permission for expanding ammo more than willing to help out other shooter or pay a fee for rights very safe gun thanks all

As the OP posted he just needs the permision for expanding ammo i assume the .223 is granted for target. Seriously don't go paying a fee to go foxing find someone local who can take you for nothing

he isn't asking to be taken as such, he's asking for ground to put on his ticket so he can get expanding ammo which is an entirely different ball game

Whichever way you want to look at it your post was not very clear and frankly still isn't, you want land to nominate for expanding ammo, I assume what you really want is hunting land cleared up to at least .223!

No need to shout and no need for an attitude, it isn't going to do you any favours if you are looking for help!

This kind of thing always worries me, you've got no immediate reason to kill foxes, you're not a keeper, farmer, or small holder with livestock otherwise you'd have been granted first time. Now i'm not keen on fox hunting for this very reason, seems like you just want to kill them just for the sake of it.

your right im none of those BUT i enjoy fox shooting on the hole you can go and shoot 50 rabbits in a night no problem but to to shoot 1-2 foxs a night or even a week is something diffrent because a fox is a very clever and smart animal and and presents a great challenge so if i can help a farmer, keeper, etc control fox numbers then ill be happy and will save pheasent polts, livestock, wildfowl most importently

I think most of us shoot because we want to. :good:

I can see the OP seems a bit badly worded or laid out, bits missing etc - rather like some of my dyslexic ramblings. I wondered why he needs expanding ammo when his farmer wont have the C/F there - so won't have anywhere to shoot vermin/fox with it but I'm thinking the post was just a bit 'briefer' than it could have been.

You do have somewhere to use a C/F with a sound mod presumably rimmie? As the FEO will want to see your good reason for acquiring them and I think I heard somewhere that sound mods are not being granted for ranges any more - but I don't do targets and could be wrong about that.

i can use the .223 and mod for target shooting only at the moment.my farmer lets me shoot with a .22 and.17 rimfire but he doesnt want centrefire rifles used on the land even though its big enough and there are plenty of backstops but its his land and he is kind enough to let me shoot so i havent asked again.i do go out with a freind of mine with a .243 a couple of times a week but that farmer only wants one centrefire rifle on his land.what i mean is i have experiance with big calibres but cant find any were to register a .223.and as for mods for target shooting i must admit i was supprised when it was granted but essexs cheif feo said its fine so im not going to argue and at least when i get some permission then il be used to how my rifle works from shooting it on the range.thanks for the post dave-g
