kent
tried them on crows and they were overpenetrating and lacking expantion at around 50- 80 yds the exact oposite to my findings on same with v-max. Personally never had a problem with v-max on bunnies and hares as others have reported

deputy dog
Never used CCI's so cant really comment on performance. But Iv always used Hornady Vmax 17 grain blue tips, with out any problem with accuracy. Iv always said, stick with what you know and you wont got far wrong. Why try and fix some thing if it aint broken. And for £10.50 per box of blue tips, at my local dealers, you cant turn them down.

wildfowler.250
I heard they are more prone to ricochet as well. You can't really go wrong with the vmax bullets...sweet round
Evil Elvis
Ok for close up head shot bunnies...shot em in the body and they'll run, defo NOT for use on foxes....zips straight through unless its a headshot and YES they do richochet!! I just gave 150 away...theyre poo
Dekers
Hi folks Any one tried the 20 grain hollow points in .17 hmr and heads up on better or worse than blue tips on bunnys Thanks SWISS My CZ can actually deal quite well with the CCI 20g HP, they actually fly HIGHER than the 17g Ballistic tips in mine. They have a role but I see little point in them for bunnies, and especially not if your only concern is pest control! Beardo
I did use them for a while and they worked fine, grouped slightly better and as said flew higher. Only ever headshot foxes with them and never had a runner. But the Vmax work better all round less chance of runners/ricochet
the running man
ive got a few boxes i use at the range fmj 20 gns cci,but i prefer the remmy 17 gns for the live quarry.
al4x
as said they go straight through with little if any expansion leaving a very small hole, you will get runners but they will always die, I had a couple of foxes both ran like hell on engine room shots, picked both stone dead but only due to GWP location which at night in thick cover I'd prefer not to have to do. The Vmax's put foxes straight down at close range on engine room shots and are devastating on bunnies so really why use anything else
