Hello all ive just found some pigeon rabbit duck and pheasant in the bottom of my freezer possibly about 10 months old. will it be ok or should i chuck it out?

Were they dead when you put them in there? If not they could be covered in all sorts of poo and stuff.

10 months it should be fine, defrost it and have a sniff.

A couple of years ago my mum cleaned out the deep freeze and found a couple of pheasants at the bottom that had been there for something like 15 years. My parents ate them and no one died.

How ironic, a week or so ago I ate a supermarket sandwich that was 1 day out of date and the universe fell out of my **** for 2 days, I nearly got turned inside out.

Meat can't 'go off' when frozen

Yes it can. Thats why there is a limit on how long you can keep some meats. The bacteria growth is slowed down - not stopped.

......and 15 years before someone saw they has some birds at the bottom of a freezer, then ate them - definately a shaggy dog story, or they need a serious lesson in freezer hygene.

BIN IT M8 - As you know my lass (the wife) works at a freezer store. Take it from me M8 BIN IT & don’t give it to the dogs that would be animal cruelty. Nearly as bad as putting them in the freezer when they were alive. :D:good:

Can get you Freshly killed RABBITS or PIGEONS and now the game season is upon us even DUCK & PHEASANT is avaiable but cant get you these as easy as the latta. ???
