Imperfection
Its not by chance a Eucalptus tree is it? Either way-drill several holes, fill with creosote and cover with something like a bin liner to prevent rain getting to it.

jacksdad
Where is the root coming from/going to ? Is it attached to a tree or stump? I remove trees now and again for my job, I use a product called......Tree Stump killer ! You cut the trunk down to ground level, drill a few holes in the stump, pour in the chemical (crystals) and cover with something waterproof. It dissolves the wood but doesn't harm the soil or kill surrounded plants.

I like to wait for a full moon, mix cat urine with distilled peroxide, add shavings from pre-war 1 pence pieces and mix with aviation fuel

jacksdad
Mungler, why not add some sodium chlorate weedkiller to it, you could then blow it, and yourself if you hang around too long, into the middle of next week As for grinding my stump....my eyes are watering already....
