Billy.
For ages and ages I've said to people to avoid Sky Broadband and I think my advice has eventually come to light... A number of big and small ISPs have allowed ACS:Law to send out letters to their customers who are believed to be illegally sharing copyrighted material and this has been in the news over the last two years. For one of their clients, Sky Broadband, they created a database of customers names and addresses and the pornographic films they downloaded and shared. Unfortunately this has been leaked onto the Net and is doing its rounds. Whilst this might sound like a rant, I'm actually hoping that any of you who are with Sky can get the file and check if you're on there. If so, you are free to press charges on ACS:Law. They are due to receive a fine of £500k for the breach of data protection, so I am sure you can put in an individual claim I would at first think that the percentage of Sky customers on the list is very small, but the file is 350MB and apparently has over 10,000 names, addresses and offences. Files are available on TPB News Link News Link EDIT: It also looks like EasyNet Broadband customers are named and shamed. Edited September 28, 2010 by Billy. Dunkield
There was a true story doing the rounds recently about a research company wanting to compare attitudes of 2 groups of 18 year olds, those who had, and those who hadn't watched porn online. Unsurprisingly, they abandoned the project when they were unable to find a single 18 year old who hadn't..
