RogerH
Meanwhile, back on topic I managed 180 carts through the gun today both 32 and 28gram. Absolutely no problem at all... Just cleaned it though and it appears to have lost some inner 'coating' of the barrel about 1/3 way from the breech just where the piston housing is attached. Taking it back tomorrow! RogerH
Well that's the best I can describe it. I presume its not chrome then, just polished 'steelium' or some such? At any rate there's a distinct 'notch' when I fiddle around with the brass rod-end. Not good. Cheers Roger
manxman2
I certainly do, you haven't got a monopoly on religious understanding matey. Just maybe the offence you're taking to it is an indication of your insecurity in your own blind beliefs?? And before mods blow a fuse with my last sentence, it's all about blind faith. So much reliance put on one book and so much evil and suffering caused by fighting over the various different versions of it. Get real, sign of the witness? It was a kiddies depiction of a fish well before your lot nicked it. Sorry mate by Charlie D's texts, based on a lifetime of research and still scientifically valid, makes more sense to me than a bookful of disjointed stories. My last about it on her unless you want to kick it off on another topic. I don't want to derail this one. Sorry OP. its a best seller dave, wish i had thought about it first, wud keep the clan in beans for years.

RogerH
Chrome plating isn't a coating then? Oh well you live and learn. Seems like the chrome plating is defective then.
paulos
Don't want to sound condescending.....as I'm probably wrong anyway! But are you sure it's not just the vent that goes through to the piston?
RogerH
I'm not being very clear, the burr or whatever extends away from the port for about 1/4 inch or so. Gunsmiths tomorrow anyway... Thanks for the input mate Cheers Roger

RogerH
Thought I'd change it anyway. This one's a bit more light-hearted I hope! Anyone takes offence at this they need to see a psychiatrist Cheers Roger

Dekers
Hi Roger, I had the same sticker on the box when i picked up my AL391 in March and had the same thought's as you. I didn't run it in, just used Hull Intercomp HV 28's and Gamebore Super Steel 24's..... 7000 cartridges and it hasn't jammed once, it didn't like a 24g straight after I changed the recoil spring but other than that it's been faultless. Enjoy the gun! Jon. Ok, have I missed something here, I spend days breaking in my new rifles but what is this about the Shotgun? My 391 Field Gold is about 10 years old, it had nothing on the box or instructions as far as I recall about this, its had a few 1000 carts through it since and the only problem it has experienced is the shooter!? No, I think it's a recent thing from Beretta, my personal feeling is that they are just covering their backsides if people are using very light loads. So far as i'm aware it's just to be the action in. Mine is now approaching 9000 rounds through it and provided the case is 70mm + it cycles EVERYTHING 21, 24, 28, 32g+ even after replacing the recoil spring it only choked on 1 cartridge which was a 24g white gold. In summary: It wasn't run in and has only failed to cycle once in 8000 plus rounds, hasn't had a full strip for 3000 rounds plus due to a lack of time so it's very reliable Jon. Cookoff013, i put about 100 28g claybusters through my M2 when it was new one afternoon, more for me to get used to it than anything else, and i've never had a problem with it. It's done about 1000 rounds from 28g to 36g since with no issue. It does say to put a slab of something heavy through it in the manual, but mine certainly didnt need it. COACH
Has to be CLAYBUSTERS, they have more recoil than any other 28g on the market and just about the cheapest cartridge as well.
