Frank got one tonight, white front really dont need to hang to long if at all, and they pluck easy when warm, belly O pork in roasting tin with a pint of cider, goose on top, onion and orange up the tradesmans, beacon on the breast salt n pepper roast for 2 hrs, serve with roast spuds and veg of choice with an ice cold cider......fantastic

longshoreman
great shootin great pic .id tell every one to.hows it go again .hey did i tell you about them geese i shot on sunday!! now heres a recipe that ul save on the pluckin.skin the breasts and fillet them off the bird split the breast to form a pocket stuff with stilton rap with backon (i prefer smoked but it downt matter) add cocktail sticks or skewers to hold to gether stick it in the oven gas 6 for 30 to 45 mins take out ,rap in foil leave to cool ,then fridge till needed .i like it with a nice greek salad or sliced thin and served with pickllily and a cold real ale.enjoy .if you skin the legs aswell and pull the sinews out you can roast them at the same time but they need about an hour in foil .allow to rest and away ye go hope you enjoy eating them as much as you enjoyed huntin em. Marc M
Cracking shooting Pavman!! I must admit I'm swaying towards the Franchi Raptor for my own semi after hearing of your liking for the gun. I think it looks the part, and you're proving it shoots the part too, well done! scolopax
Whitefronts are a real rarity where I go wildfowling. In fact I've never seen any before never mind raised a gun to one. Do you see many in your locallity? A whitefront is the only wildfowl that I've not managed to bag on the foreshore, maybe one day...

B) Unfortunately, white fronts are protected over here in Southern Ireland, but i have been told, they make tasty eating.

To be honest we dont get many either, in fact my bud has shot the location for 30 years and thats the first he has shot with a shoulder gun. The good news is I am going to ask the mods if its ok to post an ad for our club soon as we are looking for new members for next season, we are building a web site that should help so any guns in the area will be welcome to apply (I am the membership sec) we are on the suffolk/norfolk boarder but have members as far away as Wales, we have some fab shooting as you can see from the results pavman

Just as well we both know what a stroke of luck it was and you won't be doing that again Guys the club's a wildfowling one with numerous marshes and foreshore shooting on the East coast. Not huge bags but if you like your wildfowling then it's a good crack. The added bonus is you get to meet off the wall people like pavman
