Cheap Semi

I'm currently thinking of buying myself a cheap old semi (sub £200) that I can use on the pigeon's and not care if it get's knocked or scratched. Not knowing anything about these I'm after your opinions on the old Gamba's, Breda's and Franchi's I've seen advertised on the net. Is there anything I should be looking out for or avoid like the plague? Thanks in advance.....

The franchi are a superb bit of kit to shoot, very low recoil and nice weight and balance and they give superb patterns. There is a ring on the tube that needs to be turned the other way round to accomodate smaller loads, so if it wont cycle light/Heavy loads you just switch the ring. The franchi is a very forgiving gun to shoot, you might get an oldie for 200 the most they go is 300 odd anyway. They are the most underrated semi auto in this part of the world. In america they are highly sought after and are pronounced Franky.

Buy almost anything you want except a Hastan Escort semi, on the whole they are **** new, why do you think they are available second hand, avoid like the plague....don't believe me, just do an internet search! :good:

Don't know about the new bit, but bought mine secondhand (3" version) and its great. Needed a clean when I got it, but its cycled everything I have put in it (mainly 2 3/4 28g). You just need to keep on top of cleaning it and keep an eye on the o ring. :good:

The older escorts had problems, but i have to say i have had a new one for about 4 months and have used it for everything and it has worked flawlessly,it has jammed once, and it was my fault because i was in a hurry, when i fed the cartridges in i didnt fully push home the last cartridge,so it tried to feed two at the same time, easily rectified by pulling the breech back and letting the cartridges drop out,i then mentally kicked me up the ****.
