paulos
Well shot to the Shugbuggerers Although don't get complacent, because North Wolds will be a different kettle of fish! I had a change today and shot the British Open Handicap By Distance at Bywell. There are no class prizes for this, as shooters are squadded according to their DTL classification and shoot from 17 yards (C Class), 19 yards (B Class), 21 yards (A Class) and 23 yards (AA Class). Prizes go to the top 8 overall. I did a 96/280 which had me in joint 8th place overall, so I was in a four-way shootoff with Ian Ainsley, Jack Thompson and Nigel Chapman. I lost out to Nigel Chapman, who did an excellent 24/71 in the shootoff Bit of fun, but now looking forward to a day of sportrap and sporting next week

I might do, plenty of time till the next classification rehash, for me to be magnificent. But I do need to break away from this stench of B Class mediocrity...... Had a 100 bird sporting and 4 man flush at Marne yesterday for a grouse syndicate from cumbria. Some decent scores in with John Ord shooting as a guest on high gun with 93 and our Steve second on 91. (Didnt get chance to have a go round myself) Few lads from Spenny were there. They had a team in full of regular clay shooters but only managed second. Good day out for all!! You good for Thimbleby this wednesday Paulos.
Salopian
I went to Fauxdegla this afternoon, not been for a long time. What a change! Brilliant weather, clubhouse and targets. Mike Merrington & staff need to be congratulated on the wonderful work they are doing there. What a change from the dereliction that was there before Mike Faux took over. Mike Faux deserves a public thank you from all us shooters. How nice to see Cheshire's John Barnett there, I remember my grandad sitting me on his knee and telling me how good John Barnett was in the 1950's Obviously old men shoot Trap, not like his son Scott. Chard
SHUGBOROUGH Results waves goodbye to his 1st :o Not necessarily Ian, the others may have gone Birds Only When we left (late) you were still at the top of C Class for the comp, they don't write Birds Only scores up on the board. Give them a call and ask them, I bet you've got it
Nicky T
Crikey there are some monster scores in from Shugborough on Sunday. As Chard says give them a call Ian as you never know How times change hey - six months ago you'd have had the Mr Grumpy icon plastered all over here; ruddy sandbaggers

Iggy
Shot Kingsley yesterday, never shot there before but it seemed quite tough and I ended up on a 62. Very nice ground though. Anyone else make it?
Nicky T
Managed to sneak out and shoot the second round of the members knockout comp at MCSC today against Roman (Mark) off of here Shot a 90 today, and out of the 10 that got away i'm only kicking myself about 4 of them . Mark shot a very steady 81, and full credit to him beat me fair and square in the comp All in all a very pleasant round with Mark, Andrew and John

And once again I apologise for the size of my handicap It's Beretta's fault; my handicap was perfectly valid until he got his hands on me; now I can't help shooting much better! A very enjoyable day, you guys were great to shoot with.
beretta
well shot mark :good: :good: unlucky nick it is hard though shooting against someone with a big handicap as even if you straighted it you can still get beat but credit to mark for a good score. :good:
Nicky T
No complaints here - I knew that I was going to be up against it today so was determined to get the most out of it and used it as a test of concentration
Chard
Me and Timps just got back from a blowy and showery Derbyshire County Championships at Shugborough. We both shot badly, missing loads of easy rubbish and hitting the hard ones. We still ended up on 80 (me) and 81 (Timps) so good enough to help get me back out of B Class, but we weren't in the money Edited July 17, 2011 by Chard
maxus
Really enjoyed the shoot today with Nick, John and Mark (although I would have liked it more if I shot five more targets to beat John) - need to talk to Brian about hitting those high driven birds which fooled me for the second day in a row. Great watching Nick putting a good score together, and not being put off by the 22  shots he had to give to Mark :yp: - that handicapp won't last another month so I suggest IanE gives it a little while before shooting the next round.
