yickdaz Posted January 11, 2011 Report Share Posted January 11, 2011 had a good day out today in the strong wind i had something planned today that fell through but found out in time to throw the gear in the car and have a mooch for some pigeons anyhow arrived at field at 10am birds already on the field and dropping out the wood; i couldn;t tell how many from where i was parked; big field with hills and hollows i found out when i walked across with the gear; the field lifted;don;t know how many well over a 1000. as i set up at the edge of the large wood upwind i thought this could be good and it was only thing the birds kept coming in packs and big flocks;one point i had a flock of around 200 just dive into decoys took 2 out of it and thats it.i don;t like shooting into flocks like that but if i left them i would have finished with about 10 for the day so had to do it. i did get singles and smaller groups come in;shot some real high birds coming over the tall wood behind me with the wind up their ..so a good day in the end.
