If you do, do you build it in any specific way, and do you think they are any good..? cheers

deny essex
Same as above , its always in the 4x4 for those iffy days. If its likely to P down that much the brolly will be up with me and the kit underneath. Also use it if theres a real cold north wind as a backdrop windshield where possible. If for rain protection i throw a net over the top and down the sides and use another net out in front beyond the brolly line, allows me to slip from under the brolly and shoot with out too much fuss and hindrance to swing. Never noticed it putting birds off, those that want to play in the rain anyways.
stripey999
I used one yesterday. I have been in brolly hides when in the middle of fields or when rain due. Put the brolly on a tilt then set up the hide net in front close to the brolly line with another net over the brolly. When viewed from a distance it looks like a big bush. Last summer in the middle of a wheat field, my mate used hessian sack material and desert camo to hide the green brolly and the pigeons came in well. Yesterday I shot 55 from my brolly hide and they were keen as mustard to decoy (to the magnet) and the only time they really flared off was when the strong wind had blown the net off from over the brolly so that it had slipped half way down. A quick fix and they came in again.

dave1419
I've got a JRC ST1 brolly [2 man]about £100 that i always carry in the 4x4 for those days when you need it,pigeons seem to take no notice of it at all,and the front part of mine has an adjustable pole-so that i can pull the roof front back to enable shooting high birds, warm in the winter and you can pin it down with the stakes supplied.its one of the brollys that the fishing lads use.certainly recommend----Dave Edited February 6, 2011 by dave1419
Cranfield
An essential piece of kit, especially good when setting up in the middle of a field, because it gives you an instant back drop. I always use a net over mine, but I am not sure thats really necessary.
kdubya
I carry a camo tarp if I get caught in a heavy shower its quickly put over the hide ( if you set it right you can continue shooting no problem whatsoever) cheap as chips for a tarp big enough to cover the back and top of a hide. cheers KW http://www.tarpaulins-togo.co.uk/acatalog/Camouflage_Tarpaulins_.html
chrispti
I have a fishing umbrella I sometimes use. Throw a hide over the brolly and put one around the front in a ''U'' shape so theres room to get out and shoot standing up if need be
activeviii
Yep, been using one for a long time. i shoot from sitting down so works for me. I have some photos some where of the hide set up in the middle of a wheat feild last year, as Stripey said. bird came in a treat. only down side is its hard to hit birds over head but i only shoot birds that have come to the pattern so its not much of a problem for the way i shoot. Haven't really used it much, but I did go at it with some spray cans to break up the colour a bit... Splash of black and brown Has anybody got any pictures of their brolly hides? Certainly a good idea if the heavens open.
Sprinter
Have shot pigeons before from a bale hide, it started raining so went back to the motor and got my golf umbrella. Spent the next 3 hours shooting pigeon sat under a blue and silver affair, the pigeon didn't seem to give a monkeys about it and came in just the same as when it wasn't there.
