twitchynik
Salt isn't a bad starting point whilst you're waiting for something more potent. Pour it into the cuts and keep it topped up.

Alex C
I got told bleach works or diesel. Someone said battery acid but not sure where you would get it from.
davecooper1
Drilled a few holes in mine, poured diesil down them, did the job for me
Ferret Master
I have also heard about neat round up working however I'm sure NJC or Over the Hill (if he's still called that!) will be along to advise accordingly. FM

Ian750
Personally the best thing for tree stumps I have used is Ammonium Sulphamate, a good brand name is Amcide, it comes in crystal form so just drill some 10mm holes straight down into the tree stump fill with crystals and cover with a plastic bag. One dead tree stump!! You could use one of the glyphosate products, but if you do don't buy your Round-up or whatever from a garden centre, buy it from an Agricultural Merchant as the active ingredients are naff all in the B&Q bought stuff. The Round-Up I use is called Round-up Pro Biactive, another good glyphosate based product is Gallup Amenity, both of these have good active ingredient levels, 360g/litre if I remember correctly. But if you use either of these as a generall weedkiller you'll need to dilute them about 30:1 depending on what you're trying to kill of course! Hope this helps
