Cosd
I'm sure this has been attempted a few times, I don't know what the savings are though?
HDAV
OR do a deal with a local club/ground as far as i have heard/seen the savings arent great unless you buy 35k and then you need explosives license and transport costs can be an issue. I know of several people who buy 10k at a time them selves soemtimes that 6 months - 3 years worth of carts! but they dont tend to come down so if you dont mind tying up the cash and have the space just order them for yourself. alastair0903
i got a group of us gathered up before christmas and ended up ordering 13100 carts including magnums and such , came to nearly £3000 . saved over £125 on delivery as over 10000 is free delivery and if you go by the new prices after the VAT increase and just cartridges price increase the same order would cost another £140 . so there are savings to be had but christ it was a ball ache getting all the ordering and money sorted out . on the other hand i will be good for carts for a while
Floating Chamber
Even 100k wouldn't save you much!

henry d
Was there not a "syndicate" here a while back and it went Pete Tong big style, IIRC.
al4x
£50 a thousand? If you look at the heads up to cheap ammo in the ammo section you will see the price lists for a shop that is shutting up. I'd suggest they are probably selling off stock at trade prices rather than loosing money on them if so it is a bit of an eye opener. I rarely believe dealers making £5 a thousand and the bull that goes along those lines if they did no one would stock them and secondly how do they account for cheap shops then being £20-30 a thousand cheaper. Normal retail stock for a retail outlet has a pretty high markup, the musto stuff they get between 40-50% less than we pay hence when John Norris and the likes knocks out end of line stuff the bargain prices will be close to trade just to get rid of them. HDAV
£50 a thousand? yeah ! Did you ask how many he orders at a time or per year? I know of few cartridge resellers who say they buy Millions of carts a Year! PErhapos its £50 per 1000 if he buys 50k a time and sells them all as single boxes? I would have thought £20-30 per 1000 is more realistic
danimal
try £10 - £15 tops
Guest cookoff013
that was on 5k pallet of shells. think those were a 32g pigeon #6 load. i was having a look at the higher end loads on just cartridges, 300 for 1000 shells? these are not filled with gold. just lead. HDAV
I dont think JC are particularly cheap never used as prefer to use a local dealer
Guest cookoff013
i think where JC are great is they offer most products. your local rfd wont stock every kind or brand. i`d love to chuck a cheque to a dealer and pick up a great deal on 10k of shells "that i wanted" but they all want a piece of the pie. bigger the buy the bigger the pie. i`m not saying they dont have the right to a proffit. but.... i`ve looked around for the same product. spec pigeon 32g fibre. one place £214 - the next £198, claiming only a £10 is amade is utter bull. it cost more than that to ship the stuff. cook. it may become cheaper to load if clay shells hit £180 / k

I would have thought £20-30 per 1000 is more realistic why would a cartridge supplyer be bothered how the product is sold? all they care about is selling x amount of units and the WONGA or MONKEY. i know most cartridges are made to have an advertising budget, you wont find BB loads advertised as full page spread in "clayshooting r us magazine" dj carts are not advertise much. HDAV
why would a cartridge supplyer be bothered how the product is sold? They wont but the volume discount will increase the more they buy same as price you pay goes down the more you buy I dont know any dealer that will sell a single box of 25 at the 1000 rate some will sell a slab of 250 at the 1000 rate as they are boxed in 250 normally. Some wont. The profit "per cartridge" selling them at 10,000 is lower than selling them per 25 assuming dealer buys in volume. Some dealers will charge higher mark up due to over heads etc
Guest cookoff013
going back to the hull pigeon cartridge, 214 at 1000 rate 280 at per box, 40 boxes 1000 shells thats alot of markup ! just for selling individual boxes. thats £66. same product. so those claimin that only a tenner is made are "avin a laff"
