nick_c
Hello all, I have 3 lenses with my shooting glasses, yellow, vermillion (redish) and grey. The grey I use when conditions are bright/sunny. What conditions would best suit the other colours? Cheer's Nick.
PaulABF
Hello all, I have 3 lenses with my shooting glasses, yellow, vermillion (redish) and grey. The grey I use when conditions are bright/sunny. What conditions would best suit the other colours? Cheer's Nick. I use my army issued ESS glasses. The yellow lenses are hard to beat for clarity of vision even when it's sunny.
spiceychilli57
The way shooting glasses clarify the colour of a target is by stopping varying amounts of green light into your eyes, i think its green, or is it blue anyway the yellow lenses stop a bit of green light so are good in dull situations, the brown stop a bit more so are better if its brighter
bakerboy
Yellow every time ,it is like turning the light on
Thunderbird
I use yellow all the time and always find I can pick up the target very clearly. I suppose on a very sunny day I should change them..
alfa taf
I use yellow most times , and it really is like turning the lights on , as said by bakerboy , except when very bright and sunny.
nick_c
Cheer's everyone. It has been the yellow that I use the most, never used the vermillion. Nick.

bunnykiller
Try the red lens when shooting skeet, it seems to pick out black better. if you can get a set of violet lenses try theese on dtl or abt the orange stands out very well. figgy
I use some yellow ones sometimes or just safety sun glasses but tried some hi-def spex in orange, the contrast was amazing, especially on orange clays. Shame bout the price
Acid House
Ah now I understand. My mate told me they were a signaling device for tackle tarts. Yellow for a giver, red for a taker etc. Seems there is more to it.
paulos
Good grief. This chump doesn't even want you to see the targets properly while you are shooting now.

racingfrank7
I use Oakley g26 lenses in orange and in the green sunglasses lenses, I knew they was good hence buying but didn't realise how good till 1 day a local club 6 of us was shooting together and they had the 1st of the pair as a left to right crosser passing in front of the trees and bushs then in to the blue sky before disserpering over banking, I was the only 1 in our group of 6 getting on it and shooting it before it hit the blue sky and was away, when asked how I said just follow it then shoot it, they all replied I can't see it till it gets on the blue back drop. I thought they was all mental cos it was easy to see ..... Until we swapped glasses for the normal run of mill yellow shooting glasses ... They was right, couldn't pick it up till it hit the blue sky.... Cue lots of can I just borrow your glasses for my turn in stand !!
