ollie
I've always saw these fish being caught on fishing programs, very nice looking fish they are. Do any of you guys eat them?

Dunkield
I've always saw these fish being caught on fishing programs, very nice looking fish they are. Do any of you guys eat them? We had one cooked for us on a fishing trip once (it was a C&R river but this one got very deep hooked) and I was sceptical before trying it, but I have to say it was delicious. Lampwick
Lovely fish used to have quite a few on the Little Ouse, I could catch 20 in a evening. pb was a massive 2.2lb caught some lads livebaiting them for pike once, they seemed to not know any better! We had a chat. Grayling stock disappeared over a couple of years, I wonder why? Shippy
Fisherman Mike
I've always saw these fish being caught on fishing programs, very nice looking fish they are. Do any of you guys eat them? When I used to help electro fish the local trout streams they were taken out and Knocked on the head.. They have a delicate white flesh and are probably the best eating freshwater coarse fish. I catch quite a few in the Coln, Upper Thames and Windrush when I am fly fishing but they always go back.
Dunkield
When I used to help electro fish the local trout streams they were taken out and Knocked on the head.. Times change, I understand they were treated like vermin in the past, now some fishery owners sell grayling days when the trout season ends to keep a bit of money coming in over the winter months. The ones I have caught seem to fight like a fish of twice their weight, especially in fast running water - I assume they are putting that dorsal fin to good use.
