Iggy
Hi all, Ive been clay pigeon shooting for just over a year now and feel the need for a few lessons with a decent instructor. I had a couple of lessons last year which were OK, but I'm not looking to use the same coach again. Can anyone recommend a good coach for clay pigeon/English sporting in or around the north Staffs/south Derbyshire area? Thanks in advance. HDAV
OR a bit further south is Carl Bloxham (have a search as members went and had a great day with him) the APSI website also has a comprehensive list of coaches (as does CPSA and BASC sites)
Emmsy
imo forget looking at the mentioned websites and go with what feedback people have. some of the best coaches out there arnt even on those lists, they get enough work from recommendation. COACH
I have to agree there. The best coaches out there are the ones that lots of people recommend and not necessarily the ones on websites etc. How ever saying that there are of course some of the very best coaches on these web sites because lots of people want to tell others just how good they are etc. You pays ya money, you takes ya choice as they say. Dave T
Hi, I've found Carl Bloxham very good, but the guy I currently use is Andy Harvison (Holloway & Naughton), who coaches at Kibworth - he has improved my shooting massively

Hi Brother, All I would say is don't rush it & shoot with some mates who know what there doining if you can. However if you want to have an afternoon with me at Doveridge I'll gladly take you round for a lesson for free :good: Just PM me and we can meet up if you want. Salopian
Iang, I do it for a living and can personally recommend Keith (claybuster) or Brian ( Beretta) both of whom will definately improve your shooting If you listen and learn. The problem with coaching is you have to build up a rapporte' with your coach and trust them explicitly. If the coach says you are behind or over the top or whatever, they should also tell you why and offer correction. You in turn MUST be prepared to alter your shooting style. Good luck. Shooting Improvement is only a matter of Money, Time, targets & cartridges, if you have a little talent it also helps.
COACH
Yep! Keith or Brian would be a good choice.

Excellent summary, ... and its a two way street when it comes to trust, talent, rapporte and the learning process...

Mungler
That's nothing, you should try negative shooting with Michael Yahtzee. That'll put you right

psych4shooting
I certainly agree with Carl, I also echo the views of Salopian, if you are advised and coached you need to follow through and keep going, even though the new way may feel alien at some stage, you need to create the new way and transfer it into your subconscious.
