welshwarrior
I want to get some longer barrels for my original 682 will any 68 series barrels fit or will I have to get the right age set for a 682? Anyone know of any 32 ideally or 30 inchers? Ideally I want to use the gun as the stock is fitted to me and I love the gun just at 6'4" the 28s are a bit short and not a steady as when I used a 32 today. can't really afford a second gun, but want longer barrels and wont sell it. seeker
seem to remember being told that the action width was changed (slightly) on the 68s in the early 90s ... so it may be worth checking further?
BlaserF3
I used to have a 682 years ago..a few 32" barreled guns were imported but were soon snapped up. I think one of the Simpson brothers had one, why not ring the shop if it's feasable? http://www.simpsonsofnewmarket.co.uk/about_us.htm I should think that it will be cheaper to buy another gun as the barrels will need to be fitted. I've got a 687 with 30 3/4 barrels (M/C) - let me know the measurements of your barrels - mating surfaces. I would be up for a swap if they'll fit
utectok
U could buy a gun and swap the stocks easy to do and gun would feel the same.
figgy
U could buy a gun and swap the stocks easy to do and gun would feel the same. Sound advice. Just like to add then put the stock off the new gun on original gun and sell it that should be cheap to do. gsm1968
I have a 682 30" trap gun, and a 682 28" sporter and tried to swap the barrels over. It just didn't work The gun wouldn't even close. Also my 687 30" multi choke looked like it would be interchangeable, and also failed. Swap the wood is the way to go. Or just treat yourself to another gun. Alycidon
I have a tightly choked 687 game gun, rather than Teague it I found a set of 686 barrels on Guntrader for £150. My local gunsmith fitted them for £50, pretty straight forward, A

welshwarrior
Just to be clear I'm looking to get a second set of barrels I want to keep my 28s but also want something longer now I'm getting into more and more clay shooting. This was a gun given to me by my Dad years ago so I wont sell it and want to keep it as one and just add to it. I don't expect to just clip the new barrels on and know the smith will need and hour or so to make them fit properly and set up the ejectors etc. So are older 686 687 and my 682 compatible???
