Any PW members shooting the Benelli this weekend

I've just realised that I'm booked in for 9am start on saturday so it looks like an early start for me :hmm:

Just shows you should always look what your doing when booking on the internet :/ :/

Good Luck to any other PW shooters

Hello K,

Not this year but watch out next year! I've just bought a Beretta AL391 Teknys just for this sort of thing but although it seems to come up to the eye perfectly I haven't had the opportunity to put many shells through it yet so I'm giving this one a swerve.

Just out of curiosity how do you get on switching between your o/u and the semi-auto, are the stock dimensions the same or do you just pick either of them up and shoot?

Anyhoo Good Luck and shoot straight.

Hi Mr P,

The best tip I can give you is they are faster that an O/U on the quick going away birds so you need a little controle to lock on to them birds.

I've not shot my auto for the last 7 or 8 months & i put an extension on the stock, whent to doveridge lastnight with it & did 90 x 100 but who knows on the day :hmm: :hmm:

I can't do it this year, unfortunately it clashes with another social event, I shot the first one a couple of years back with my Benelli Supersport, it was a fantastic shoot and it was great fun loading three shells, everybody had a great laugh.

The Benelli is a tad whippy, so I've bought a replacement 6oz mag cap from Briley in the States, also a 4" barrel extension, so it shoots a lot more steady now.

I made a mistake by lending it to this miscreant, just look at the Woodies he shot with it, the dog was knackered, I had to prise it off him..

Don't want to hijack the thread, sorry, but I want to get one of those weighted mag caps for my supersport. Did you have any problems shipping into UK/ what was the P&P?

I didn't buy it myself, I got it via a friend in the gun trade.

I do know that Tony Manvell at Wiltshire Rod & Gun stocks them here in the UK, give him a ring on 01793 497455

Dave, not long back myself we had a blow out ont the M40 just past heathrow. In the outside lane doing 90 & bang poor Lindon didint know if he was on this earth or fullers earth.

Just a bit like my first stand 5 away suspect reff, then constant jamms for the first 7 stands. It was my own fault for not cleanning the gun cause it never missed a beat on wednesday. I took it apart and give it a clean half way round & it was fine.

So I managed to finish on 100 x 120 not to bad, though I thought it was friday the 13th.

Could you just remind me why you bought a Prius - wasn't to save the planet was it -- 90mph isn't very green but it certainly sounded a bit brown. - glad you managed to hold it and pull up in one piece. -- Ron said "Did you get your last set of tyres from Jacko's used tyres"

Was a lovely day and a great course. This is my fave shoot of the year and I waited all year to shoot it again.

Sadly I had massive problems with my a303. Normally ultra reliable and didn't miss a beat on the Wednesday before the shoot.

I just couldn't work out what was wrong with it. Must have had atleast three jams, stoppages on every stand. really knocks the confidence and takes the fun out of it.

I must have stripped it down three times during the shoot. On stand 13? the simo going away left to right and the on report rabbit I must have had five or six stoppages. I just kept pumping cartridges in and getting Jams. the reff and the photographer were egging me on giving some support and while my squad watched me struggle Kevin Howland came over and lent me his Gun to finish the stand off. Thanks. Top bloke. another guy on that squad gave me some oil to pump into it. By the end of the shoot I was pulling the trigger and manually loading the next Cart.

I ended up on a 75 at the end of the day. 89 was my previous score at this shoot.

The stands That The Gun didn't let me down on I did quite well with. it's still in the back of your head that the next shot will be a stoppage.

Ahhh Well I'll just have to wait another year for it. and I'll be back to kick its ***.

Well shot Keith and the rest of the Pigeonwatch lads.
