JohnfromUK
Take it to a proper gunsmith for his comments , a lot of dealers don't know one end of a gun from the other . Unfortunately, that is very true.
sparky mick
had same leakage on my yildiz o/u top barrel. heard that it was caused by flux but can't remember who told me!
Westward
It isn't flux because flux is acidic and would leave nasty discolouration on bare metal and strip the bueing if left for more than a few minutes. Anyway, the degreasing & cleaning processes before blueing would remove any traces of flux. The brown stuff is cosmoline protective grease which gets left in the corners because the dealer hasn't cleaned the gun thoroughly prior to sale. It's normally waxy but when it gets hot it melts and starts migrating. A few hundred shells, a couple of cleans and Bob's your uncle! Lord O War
Some of the Americans use the dishwasher to clean cosmo from parts kits and I can confirm it works a treat. I put my deactivated PPSH41 reciever in the dishwasher and it came up a treat, just remove it straight away and don't let the missus catch you! bostonmick
I doubt very much gmk or beretta would say that something is safe and correct if it was not as they would not want to end up on the wrong end of a court case.look at miroku with their safety catches.modern guns and their parts are made by machines and you will get some residues left after the manufacturing process.i own six beretta's none of which have any leakage or discharge.i will just say that I would never take advice from these forums I go to my local gunsmith who I trust 100% and I have never been led astray by him. matone
I had a 682 years ago which came loose at the joint. It's not unusual on Beretta's. +1 saw one where the tubes actually slid out of the monoblock !
