local garden center ( who sell ammo/carts and other shooting related items but not guns) had a few boxes of fibre wad hull soveriegn 7,5 left at a very good price, so I nabbed a couple of slabs, however they are 32g jobs? on talking to a mate he says they cant be used at clay grounds :hmm: rollocks me thinks they are clay carts after all, so what does the panel think?

Most straw bale comps will be 28gm too.

I wont worry they will be in my pocket  seen size 5 32g game carts in the bins often enough, expensive way of breaking clay :o

I'll be checking when you are down at Marne on league night then. I'd best send a quick email round the club captains and advise them to do likewise

sorry you were just being needlesly obnoxious, I will use them up on practice days, so nothing lost, I just jumped at them for the price never thinking that they even made a 32g cart, a straw bale shoot like that at the jolly sailor ( no prizes or need to hand a card in) will also fit the bill.

There are loads of places out there that won`t give a hoot what weight cartridges your using as long as they are not too loud.

They do kick quite a bit though.

wish I had a £1 for every size 5 case I have seen in the bins at clay shoots? question I have is that hull soveriegn are not exactly aimed at the budget shooter, and as so why on earth do they do a 32g comp cart knowing that they are no good for registered comps, surely thats the class they are aiming at? oh well live and learn.

They could be really old stock ?

The last time I used any big Hull Sovereigns was at the last shoot at Welbury Grange (yes they did allow big stuff at that last shoot) mind they were 36g 7s in a plaswad though.

The 32g fibre load would have been handy to have a few of in your bag for the odd fitasc target back in the day when 36g was the max load allowed in that discipline :hmm::yes:

You could always use them at the 100 at North Wolds (they're fibre only these days) they'd come in handy down the bottom of the dale :lol::lol:

I too remember that day well,it seemed like a long drive up there in the old Escort Van (**** *** Chard :P ) but it was worth it,not just for the targets but also to see and hopefully compete (a bit) with all the regular northern shooters who were about in those days.

I can't remember who won it,but whoever did worked hard for it :good:

That place is sadly missed

Why not declare that you intend to shoot them when you arrive at your local shoot, that you you will be able to gauge peoples feelings, and no argument, or other shooters talking behind your back, cursing that you are a breaking a very well known and long standing understanding.
