Dunkield
It's taken a lot of hard work but it now has the desired shape and finish (or as good as it is going to get) Being quite opened grained it has gulped up the oil so I have waxed it now, as I need to get it back together again to start using it. The original stock is at the top to show the contrast is weight and size, the object of the excersize was to get the balance back down the stock when the mod is on, and to raise the comb. It was quite hard to photograph as the original stock has a high gloss finish that bounces the flash. Axe
Stuart, thats a cracking bit of work mate. The reach looks quite a bit longer too, as well as the comb being higher. But the tone has really come out in the wood. Well done mate.

Dunkield
very nice job mate How did you get that finish? what oils, grain filler? Hi Ncik, The oil was just plain old boiled linseed oil rubbed in with 1000 grade wet and dry, which finished off the wood and filled in the grain at the same time. After that I just applied 'London stock wax' which I have had for years and had to heat up just to get it useable

flash
yeah, that sounds like a good idea, do u know if they do a stock for the CZ511 semiauto .22 rimmy, i have one but it has an american stock and i would much prefer maybe a thumbhole or something more comfortable. cheers flash
Dunkield
Flash, they list: BRNO: 600, 601, 602, CZ 550, CZ 452, CZ 527 Not sure if any of those are the American equivelant of the 511, but you can always drop them line to find out, they may be able to do something close that can be adapted to fit. I don't know anything about 511's so I am not sure what they are similar to...

Dunkield
Right the 'new' one is definitely on it's way now so if anyone is interested in doing the same to their CZ, PM me. I will start a new thread with some pictures so this is just a heads up, I reckon £50+p&p is a very reasonable price, it would cost between £80-100 to get one over depending on whether you get caught for import duty or not - and a 12 week MIN wait of course . . .
