Hey guys, sorry for all of the posts about which pcp but if (thats a big if) i finally decide to get one i want to make sure i get a good one :) So, i was set on a s410 after shooting one and could not belive the accuracy! However after that i went more to the new shotgun side of the fence and now im on the pcp side  So i have come to a conclusion (for now!) That i dont want to spend much over £400 for the kit (excluding scope) Was looking into the ultras but seem more atracted to the scorpion, i have seen a few used in hft shooting so they must be reasonably good! But do you think i could pick up a gun (new or s/h good condition) with charging kit for around £400 Not too worried about a silencer for now but when i start shooting more i may invest in one :yp: But i was thinking what other single shot pcps are on the market at a similar price for similar quality? havnt looked into any other brands but bsa and aa but the s200 is a bit ugly in my opinion, so what other rifles are out there? Sorry for the long write up, just want to give you an idea of what im after :)

What about the AA S400, my mates got a classic length one in.177 fantastic rifle very accurate and as with all AirArms products the fit and finish is top notch, not sure how much a new one is mind but dont think they more than £400!

Safe shooting,

The s400 seems highly spoken of. Not suprised as it is the basis of a 410 which i know is an amazing rifle, was also looking at the ultras, have considered them before but i think i would rather wait for a Scorpion of the right price to come up. Will look into the 400s further and compare prices a bit. Would be nice to get it all for under £400 but i know that might be pushing it a bit. Looks like i will have to be working hard this harvest

Based on your budget you seem to be more in BSA territory to me!

You wont go far wrong with the Scorpion or the Ultra. In my humble opinion they look a lot better than most air rifles as well. Youll get new or nearly new for the budget and if you decide its working out you can have it modded to perform better. As it is it will shoot identical to most guns at twice its value. There is a lot of air rifle snobbery!!!

Hi there i have had a few guns, so here is my thoughts for you to consider. Personally first of all you need to decide what the gun will be used for !! what type of vermin are you wanting to shoot. Do you have to carry it long distances, how often are you going to be using it, and so on... I absolutely love the bsa scorpion T-10 tactical stock, multishot give you the chance to take a follow up shot quickly, in the event of wounding the target. I have had both the .177 and .22 . The .177 gives you a flatter trajectory and slightly increased range, the .22 having a larger cross sectional area gives more stopping power, but at closer range. You can pick up these models reasonably cheaply, i have just sold the .22 gun on its own for £300. Hope this is of some use to you

regards

Jon :good:

Gun for £400 maybe not sure what your definition of full kit is! Your right about shot count though give or take 5. How many shots do you take when hunting though? it's plenty an keeps coming back to budget

I got my S400 walnut, with scope, mod, sling, gunslip, and 3L dive bottle for £400 quid.

All mint, **** scope but you can't grumble.:good:

I would be very happy if i could find a gun and pump or bottle for £400. I have a scope to use and a mod can be bought later on. Not sure if i will need a sling and a case wont blow anyones wallet. Have seen some new scorpions on guntrader for £329 but not in the right area. Will have to try and get down the local shop asap and have a chat with the guys there :) The s400 seems to sound slightly better in some ways than the scorpion and the multishot conversion seems helpfull but i will have to see :)
