alastair0903
that is a picture , won`t get this close again for a while . found this caught up in a fence in the field we were decoying in . the little guy was proper stuck and must have been stuck for at least a day buy the look of the ground around it . it had managed to get its foot tangle in the top of the pig netting fence whilst trying to get into the wood , took a good few minutes and 2 of us to figure out how to get it out again but as soon as it calmed down and let me lift it back over the fence passing it to paul for a quick pic , then off it went . Now it had done quiet alot of damage to its leg but nothing to serious (i think ) as it had only really damage the very bottom of its rear left leg where it must have been trying its hardest to get free . even with this injury it did seem to be fit and well and i watched it run a good 500 yard when we let it go , with only a small limp (not supprised ) with a little luck i think this one will make it

scolopax
Very well done, but to any one else reading this who may attempt such action in the future, beware the antlers and the hooves, booth can cause serious damage. A deer thrashing about is very quick and not in control of its actions, it just wants to get away pronto. Ideally get a blanket or jacket or similiar over the head first, get the animal free and released ASAP, roe in particular can succumb to stress and die very quickly when handled by people. Frenchieboy
Well done mate and a great result! As has been said though, this sort of action should be done very thoughtfully as they can (Unintentionally) inflict severe injuries to the person that is trying to help them out! Looking at the photo I think Crispti is right - Pickpockets come in all shapes and sizes nowadays - That's gratitude for you!

Boromir
We had to collect a dead one stuck in a fence next to a private road. Been there for weeks the way it was decomposed the householder nearby was threatening to go to the camaras if my work didnt move it as it was stinking. Can anyone tell me if they would call out or make a racket if stuck like that? Cause it was me who had to move it and was just a bit annoyed that they told us when it was rotten.
