onefulham
I wonder in these days of multi channel broadcasting why, there are no tv programs on guns and shooting ? When I was a kid I loved fishing and there was only good old Jack in 'Out of town', to see fishing on, now Sky devotes whole days too fishing programs. Another of my interests, whisper it, is caravanning, even that has two regular magazine type shows, plus the odd one off's. You can see all the specialist programs that there are on tv now. I know there is a web based program on hunting and shooting, but that is not the same as on tv. Shooting is a multi billion pound industry, and can carry at least 7 magazines for it's different types, that I can think of. I believe a magazine style show on, shooting, guns, hunting and the great outdoors, would be very popular, and would get good figures, it could start cheap and basic like the caravan shows and build, you always get some people who moan about content or style, but the great shooting public would watch I think. JR1960
I doubt it's anything to do with finance, advertising or popularity.......just political correctness and the fact the TV companies don't want a load of antis on their case... HDAV
Top Gear probably has the most guns on a regular TV show that isn't fictional....
Joe99
There used to be a celebrity clay-shooting show on S4C back in the day, can't remeber the name of it now. Seems to me clays would be the most likely subject for tv now, sans fluffy bunnies as it is.

I also would like to see a dedicated shooting/countryside TV prog',but PC would kill it off I fear.Possibly it could start off small,as a small series following stalkers as they went about their work or something simlar, and see what the response was.'Kill it,cook it ,eat it' turned out to be quite popular with very little controversy as far as I know. If it's going to happen,it's got to happen before eating meat becomes un-PC!
HDAV
One bit i do remember is Escape to river cottage and Hugh Fearnley-Whotsit shootings pigeons with a .22 LR (aiming up into the air!) Borrowed from his landlord! This one i think (BTW 4oD is awful!) http://www.channel4.com/programmes/river-cottage/4od#2922255 17 min in gives you an idea of what to do with any shot birds tho (surely at those ranges >12 ft/lbs air would be better than .22lr tho? onefulham
The kind of thing I was thinking of ,would be like a magazine show, bit like Sporting Gun/ Shooter on TV, you only have to watch information tv to see the range of specialist programs that do get to air, the shooting industry is huge compared to a lot, as said ' Kill it, Cook it, Eat it' passed and was very popular ,and did show hunting in a good light and soppy anti dullards for what they are. We moan about the Ban Everything brigade but I feel people are getting tired of there lies and bigotry.

onefulham
Yes I have watched it and very good it is too, wonder if they thought about going on some channel like information tv ? I think Internet TV will be big in the future but at the moment watching a program on our huge flat screen tv with no buffering, loss of connection is a much better experience.
