guest1957
When are they going to call the army in? This is just stupid... I'm suprised they haven't at least been actively working with the PSNI, they have the experience and equipment required for problems like this. Raja Clavata
All the petrol stations in Romford are shut but the pubs seem to be open. There was trouble at the Brewery earlier. Wife tells me that reported on Facebook that the McDONALD'S by the station is on fire. This is getting ridiculous.
LEFTY478
When are they going to call the army in? This is just stupid... What exactly do you think the Army could do to help? Soldiers are trained to 'close with and kill the enemy'. Unless granted rules of engagement so wide that they included "Enemy front: in you're own time, carry on" - the Toms would be trial before the first wannabe gangsta's body was cold. My FRG quals are well out of date, but I'd be prepared to wing it, if asked to help. Federal Riot Gun

Kes
Time for authoritarian control. I am dissapointed the areas where this rioting is happening are largely multiracial. Whatever the mix of people, there is a message to send. As others have said, this is maddening, as its the world view of England as well as a year before the olympics - it actaually needs 'crushing' and I use the word advisedly. What is our country coming to? It makes me very sad and reflective on a past which does not merit this present.
tikka.223
you mean the ruc. The RUC would have knocked the **** out off them by now,but alais the PSNI is about as much use as your own mainland Police more reactive than pro-active. LEFTY478
I thought they changed the name? They have. The PSNI's TSG (Territorial Support Group) are boys you need. Known as 'the Blacks' after their callsigns' Black 1, Black 2 etc. They're very professional skull busters.

Bluebarrels
why not call in the army then issue a curfew warning and if anyone is out rioting after 9pm crack out the rubber bullets, water cannons cs gas! Because that would require someone to make a decision! and by the time someone had,it would be too late :o Times like these we need to borrow the German/French police, they woudnt **** around Edited August 8, 2011 by Bluebarrels
ack-ack
I think if they had access to a creative arts group this wouldn't have happened. Were they to have sensed what it was like to be an oak tree blowing in the wind they would be more adept at dealing with their frustrations. Indeed, their inner selves negativity could manifest it self in a three minute peice of art in which they perhaps were to replicate a Salmons forcing its way up an ice cold Scottish river to blow its beans. mick miller
Thank christ for that, at last. Teresa May has made a statement that this behaviour is 'un'ceptable' and that the rioters will most certainly be put on the naughty step!
