new to the flock
Axe The first pic is all I use for rabbits and squirrels. It is a Gerber open frame, 2 1/2 inch clip point blade. The next two are medium game knives raccoon, beaver, etc used when I am just field skinning. This is a Gerber 3 3/4 inch clip point blade. This is my work horse knife and is with me always. This is a Gerber 3 inch clip point blade on an open frame. The next ones are for deer, moose, bear, carriboo, etc This is an Old timer 4 inch fixed blade with a gut hook and drop point. This is a custom Falcon skinning knife with a 3 i/4 inch skinning blade. Once you get into skinning blades there is a whole new catagory of points, blade angles, and bevels. I also have 4 differant boneing knifes, and 3 differant filleting knifes
Dunkield
I have got the top 2, but that one at the bottom looks a beauty NTTF I haven't used my open frame knife in anger yet, I would imagine the frame gets clagged up with blood n guts though? new to the flock
The Falcon is a very nicely balanced blade, hold an edge very well, and is a bitch to sharpen without a ceramic. It would however be too big for rabbits. NTTF
king ratcatcher
nice knifes you have there m8, what sharperner do you use as i would imagine you would need a very sharp knife for carriboo, deer, bear ect, cheers lee ....
new to the flock
The one I like the best and use the most is called The Edge Maker Pro It is a sharpener and hone and can be used anywhere. The also make a small pocket one , but I just throw this one in my day pack. It puts an edge on fast and easy, is easy to use, and there is no guessing. If the steels start to where you heat it over the kettle and give a one click turn and you are back to new again. Mine is probably between 10 and 14 years old now and it only cost 20 dollars when I bought it. I also have a ceramic one for the falcon, but for the life of me I can not find it right now. Dunkield
Top picture are my Gerbers And my fishing knives, unlike the Gerbers these work for a living... The top one is a filleting knife and the bottom one is a floating knife given to me over 25 years ago on a trip to Sweden. Next is the home made knife and sheath (featured on here before) And lastly the ceramic sharpener, not made by Gerber as I thought but by Fiskars A lot of knives, but I don't like selling them - and still a drop in the Ocean compared to HD's collection!! Lord Geordie
Where i USED to live i had a guy next door who was in his shed from 7am till gone 6pm and all he did all day was make knifes from scratch He would turn out 2 a day and just GIVE them away??? I guess his wife was a bit hard to get along with poor chap. I got some FAB knives from him but got rid of them years ago One of the ones i had sold for 35 quid The rest were along the £10 mark but ALL were good knives. Never been much of a knife person really LG

dunganick
well heres my collection  as you can see im just getting started this knife is pretty good for £15 keeps its edge reasonably well, the gut hook actually is about as sharp as a very blunt thing, but other than that the knife is easy to clean (not that i seem to very much) has a good point to it, good weight in the handle and at £15 i wont be too bothered if i loose it.
