Beretta28g Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 Hi, I have a virus on my computer, I have run AVG which cant find it, Spybot which shuts down mid scan and Norman shuts down mid scan. John_R Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 If you can start the task manager (ctrl-alt-del) and look at the list of applications/or processes and you can recognise something running that should not be, you can then end that process and run your AV applications. It's just that your computer is probably heaving with background applications and needs a fresh install. 'I have a virus' is the scapegoat for a slow computer. jimbo1 Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 see...i had a similar problem with mine mate....i installed vipre antivirus on mine and it found 6 threats avg couldnt see !! ....they do a 15 day free trial version so might be worth downloading and installing....vipre by sunbelt software. ...just make sure you uninstall your existing antivirus before you install. John_R Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 You really should not have both Norton and AVG on there. Anti Virus software packages do not coexist very happily. Out of those two I would junk Norton. Get Malwarebytes and run that. That removes spyware and certain other nasties, and will not have any conflicts with AVVG.
