tycoon01
Hi everyone, I need help in rehoming my 6 yr old Springer spaniel 'ozzy'. He is a lovely affectionate and loyal companion but I have a new job and that means me going away for long periods of time so I have to rehome him. He is newtered and up to date with his injections. He is great with the kids and no problem around the house. He is trained to some extent on the whistle but still has some way to go. I have been working through a gun dog training manual with him, he has been very quick to learn. Pm on here if you can help please. I live near Accrington lancashire. Siberian Tiger
Have you tried English Springer Spaniel Welfare (ESSW) ? They are very good when it comes to rehoming working springers and usually have folk waiting for a working type.

straightbarrel
You say he's a six year old and also a quick learner? please don't take this the wrong way but; A how long have you owned him? B has he any field/gundog experience at all? Also there appears to be another dog or part of another dog in the picture? Are you also re-homing this one. Thank you. I took him in back in April from his previous owner who hadn't the time for him. As I like to shoot I decided to start training him to the whistle and to retrieve etc. As yet he has not got any experience apart from one outing when I took him shooting but did not let him become involved, it was merely to accustom him to gunshot which he was oblivious to anyway. I think what you believe is another dog is his tail wagging. Edited October 19, 2011 by tycoon01

Not trying to force you into though lee . Hope he finds a good home.

Dirty Harry
If you were looking for another dog would you go for a 6 year old untrained one looking for his 3rd home. Would not be my first choice. If you can train it you might only get a few years work out of it before retirement. If you just want a dog as a pet then go for it.
