Strange airsoft people

I am a bit worried by some of the people I see doing airsoft, I have a friend who likes airsoft, hes spent about 4-500 quid on the gun and all his tactical kit,but he realizes its all a game and stuff so it's not too bad.

Anyway, he goes to these airsoft games every Friday, and one time he said I should come along.so I thought, yeah I might as well, it will be like paintball

.... the people at these places are the strangest people you will probably ever see, they had thousands of pounds worth of guns and kit, people wore full body armour and webbing, helmets, gas masks, fake bayonets and other proper military kit, and there guns !!! there were assault rifles, UGLs, m60 machine guns, rpg-7s and one person who had this

It costs ******* 1500 quid !!!!

I believe the real one only costs about 4000, were as a one that fires little balls of plastic at 300 fps still costs nearly half that, its just insane !!!

And all these people are grown men, running around playing guns like children, you've got to worry about whats going on in their minds

what are your opinions on all this ?

i had a chat with one guy who was into airsoft, i felt quite sorry for him, a typical billy no mates who'd dress up and play "armies" whenever his mum would let him, he was in his thirties mind

he almost creamed his pants when i showed him my Benelli M3, his first words were "does that shoot BBs?" "Kind of" i replied...

Each to their own tho i guess but it really does seem pointless to me.

Not my sort of thing  however good thing were all interested in different pastimes :good: :good: BB

Perhaps ive been around the real thing too long, and rifles/guns that fire little balls doesnt cut the mustard for me

But in there defence at least they are out doing the BIZZ,im not sure all who post on here "get out with the gun" too often,if at all :o :o BB

Like alot of stuff its fantasy & escapism just like the Sealed knot, cowboy enthusiasts, wizards and worlocks, dungeons and dragons enthusiasts that you get, infact all role play even the Max Mosely S&M stuff is fantasy, might not be healthy..... but there are far worse ways to spend a weekend and a few hundred quid (some much better ones too    )

I do have some concerns especially for the younger members, I personally think there are plenty of oddballs with SGC/FAC so the geezers with plastic BB guns dont worry me.....

Want to meet some real weirdo's then just open an airgun magazine :P

Each to thier own I say.. Everyone is entitled to a hobby. Better than going out twice a week to the pub 15 pints of Stella then home to beat the wife up. I know a few blokes who are into Airsoft..No way are they walts or nutters just everyday people. A lot of society look at us, clad in camo sat in a muddy field murdering animals...We know what they think of us.

And then theirs me. I spend my nights in a field with a torch cuddling a loaded gun waiting for a ginger animal to possibly pass by. Then get up in the mornings before its light and go and lay in a wet dyke make friends with the resident rats and wait for a bunch of geese to come to feed. They might not even come. Who's stranger. Us or them.

I did airsoft for about 6 years and I loved it. Was a good day out with mates and a good laugh. However the whole aspect of it was to have fun, this is totally ruined by all the fruit cakes who take it far far to seriously. To many kids and adults alike that think there in the sas or something.

Better than sticking it up his nose IMO some think £150k for a pair of shotguns is reasonable!

yeah I'm not saying airsoft itself is bad, but like you say, its the people who take it way too seriously and think there spec ops or something

I do airsofting too, though i go to skirmishes and there are the people there with so much expensive gear, then again, you to go the local clay shoots and you have the people there with £2000+ shotguns that can't even hit a small clay circle. Personally i think airsoft is great, cheaper than paintball and WAY more fun.

My gear is minimal, 2x Hi cap magazines (500rnds)

G36C (semi/full auto about 340FPS)

Foregrip with pressure pad laser

Tactical Trustfire LED torch

BSA red dot

sling etc

and it more than floats my boat!

around 6 rounds a second on full auto. and it hurts like ****!
