If you`re new to duck calling it is a bewildering world and I hate to have to say that they are a poor selection in terms of build quality and sound production. I would respectfully suggest that you buy a Buck Gardner Double Nasty 2 which will actually sound like a duck, something that most of the above won`t. If you go to the BASC website look in the Media section where there are some vids on calling. Alternatively wait until the auto scroller on the front page rolls over to the duck calling clip. Haven't really practised the mallard call but the whistle is dead easy, just this friday i turned a couple of wigeon with it and bagged one. Wildfowler12 Posted November 5, 2011 Report Share Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) I'd avoid all of them calls tbh mate, pay an extra £10 and get a decent 1. Maybe a Buck Gardner or a flextone. If you just want a cheap 1, try a Flambeu single reed. Cheap and cheerful, and difficult to blow at first, but it's the best of the 'cheap' bunch. kent Posted November 6, 2011 Report Share Posted November 6, 2011 There is more than a few good calls, unfortunatly its generally the caller who louses things up I like Alt and DJ calls and preffer wood, though i have a little Acme which is plasic and pretty awfull for general use but great for little single quacks when theres a raft of duck floating around just out of range of the hide.
