vampire
Got some decisions to make now, have had my frontera swb apache for 2 years, searched for ages to get a good one with full service history,it has done everything i have asked and exceeded all expectations off road since fitting grabbers, but a landrover discovery i had my eye on has now come up for sale and i have first refusal

poontang
Stick with the Frontera. If it does everything you want, why risk a change?

Paul223
cos when the disco rots away you can buy the panels to repair it , and most of the bits for the disco are cheap

Dr_evil
keep what you have, my mate wont take his disco on places my vitara goes, as his sinks, being around twice or more heavier Question………hows a vitara the same as a frontera when comparing a disco to a frontera ? if you'd said trooper then yeah fine, but…….. Moors Man
Stick with what you have got. Disco parts cheap !!! Not my experience. But you will need plenty of them.
vampire
I love the look of my frontera and the fact that the roof comes off so we can stand in the back to shoot, its quiet when driving round the fields, even made one walker jump out of her skin as she didnt hear me till i was right up behind her,it will crawl through any mud slop in second gear without touching the accelerator without stalling, its driven round rape/sugar beet fields with no problems. Stuff i dont like, the alarm fob thingy :angry:thats it the rest is better than i could ever want as it was cherished by its previous owner, when i rang garage to find out about history they all new the truck and said she looked after it,which is backed up by all the bills i have,i think she would have a heart attack if she found out it was a shooting truck only now Just always fancied a discovery especially in epsom green and now this one local has come up,that i know is a good truck,i could have a cheap disco, but it would have to go some to beat the frontera, which i would never have believed till i bought and ran this one for 2 years. The model i have, 96 a series swb 2.0ltr apache is still fetching £1200 on the bay and am hoping that if i do get the disco my grabbers would fit it as they cost £400 earlier this year. :hmm:

Vermincinerator
One of my friends has a 03 disco and it rolls on 18" rims so if you are thinking of one that late your grabbers will not fit. Ian.
Dr_evil
Don't touch a disco 2…….well I wouldn't anyway…….they might look better and have better equipment in and out but………….. Early ones have terrible TD5 problems, late ones don't have central difflocks and the 4.0L V8's are good for the noise but thats it as they'll eat headgaskets An end of production TD5 is the only good bet for a disco 2 IMO but they cost a lot, mates dads one is up for sale at 11.5k although its low mileage I still find that a ridiculous price as you could buy 4 disco 1's for that all with mid mileage 200/300 tdi's that'll run for another 100k if properly maintained Plus they like to rust even more than disco 1's  Edited December 9, 2011 by Dr_evil
vampire
Thanks for input, have decided if price is right then i will get the disco and sell my frontera :o Question, will my 16" 255 grabbers fit on the 16" rims of the disco 1. And does anyone want a frontera
