Dekers
never seen it myself.is it true that badgers kill lambs.and if so how can you tell.i have been told that they eat the lamb from the rear end? Badgers are carnivores, they eat meat, if a lamb is in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is simply dead, then I'm sure it could happen, but lambs are not usually top of the menu from what I understand about Badger! Various animals eat various other animals in whatever way they like, I believe some do start at the **** and work up, others rip the stomach out, and corvids almost always start with the eyes, cats have a habit of starting by eating rabbit heads and work there way through after that! Isn't nature a wonderful thing!
cockercas
No idea. I know they eat hedgehog and if my mate leaves rabbits ect lying around near the badger sets they go. We left a fox near one but it was left alone

matone
Definitely true ! Most keepers that I know in hill country reckon when they get called out to a fox killing lambs it`s actually badgers doing it 80% of the time !

drut
Yes its true, seen it myself but in my experience not common. Also once had a badger chewing on a dying ewe's udder while it was still alive. One of my permissions is "fully loaded" with badgers, the farmer hates them but to be fair the incidents with sheep/lambs are few and far between.Others may not be so lucky they are more aggressive than most TV programs would have you believe. They are also responsible for many traffic jams and marriage break ups! Bloody badgers Shippy

DSPUK
It's a good job we don't have these badgers. - Nasty little critters. You might want to turn sound down as narrators voice is grating. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIyfCtYQz6s Dave
