stirky
Went out for an evening stalking to try and find an elusive buck that i only see maybe twice a year. I waited in quite a thick part of the wood where i have seen him in the past, managed to find a place where i could lay down with the rifle on the bipod and waited and waited. I saw him first moving between the thick trees, hoping he would come out into a bit of a clearing for a feed which he eventualy did at about 60 yards, he continued to walk towards me, i got the chance of a shot when he was about 50 yards but he was feeding and walking straight towards me, so i gave a "hey" shout that got him looking straight at me head up perfect for a straight on neck shot. I doubt that he heard the shot as he crumpled, no need for the dog to find this one but she is the best stalking partner i could wish for. Holland&Holland
Wow, very nice buck ! Congratulations, weidmannsheil It has a very dark coat, so i guess it probably lived most of it'time in the wood? For the fact it is as shy as you told you got it pretty quick on the first day.
