mattslaptop247
Right, I'm treating myself on Friday, but which to go for..... Macnab Highlander 3" sideplate £995 s/h Beretta Silver Pigeon 2 3/4" boxlock multichoke £995 s/h Betinsoli Diamond 3" boxlock multichoke £750 new Browning Citori 2 3/4" boxlock multichoke £995 s/h Its mainly for driven game and clays. I know loads of people swear by the silver pig, but it seems everyone owns one, I want to be a bit diffrerent, not knocking it guys as it's a cracking gun and I'm not so struck on the forend. It has the older type but I prefer the schnabel one. The betinsoli is the cheapest, and is the only gun that is brand new, has excellent engraving, but have read comments that it feels cheaply made The macnab, I love the look of it, it has a slimmer action which I prefer and is a bit more unusual.Retains 100% case colour hardening The browning I like the looks of, nice clean lines, but a little more barrel heavy. The first 3 all fit beautifully, but the browning might need the comb raising a bit. Guys, which would you choose and why?
Gordon R
Beretta or Browning - better made and resale value.
Hamster
Beretta or Browning - better made and resale value. Correct - if they both fit well then the one with longer barrels.
Farmer-of-the-Futre
Our silver p is great. Just get what ever fits and feels right

njc110381
A 2 3/4" chambered Beretta Silver Pig? Is it quite an old one? Mine was 3" chambered. Is the Macnab a M/C? If so I recon that's the one I'd go for. Why? Because I like to be different and as far as I know they're decent guns.
cant hit rabbits 123
My Onyx is 2 and 3/4. Its common in older Beretta's I think. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Betinsoli's, they are fantastic, but they dont have the same prestige as the others so have a much lower resale value. ChrisAsh
Betinsolli as new,so no worry about problems for I think three years, well made normally with good wood
fenboy
The Mcnab for me , for two reasons, firstly they are very nice guns , and secondly because most others will tell you beretta or browning. I must admit to having a beretta but believe it or not they are not the be all and end all of the gun world and them and brownings are not the only guns that hold value

Some people swear by Bettinsoli - I just swore at mine - dumped it after 6 months and lost 40% of my sale price on the deal
mattslaptop247
Well the beretta has gone, so in the morning I will ring up and buy the macnab! As everyone says, somthing a bit different, and i read somewhere when the highlanders first came out they were a shade over 4000, so I hope I'm getting quite a lot of gun for my money. blackbird
If you want a gun to hold it cash value go for a Browning, I bought my 425 grade 6 some 15 years ago & I was offered £100 more for it last year than I paid for it new (but it is in fantastic condition)
Peathag
I would normally always recommend Browning and Beretta etc and a gun that fits you, but I personally would go for the Macnab if it is the model made by B.Rizzini with the semi-pistol grip as I had one in 20g fixed choke and it was really well mabe nicely balanced gun - you could always have it fitted to you by a gunsmith.
