I'm just glad you didn't go through what target sports did.

I got a phone call early on the morning of the break in from a local none shooter.

Your dead right they won't go on open sale and have already been shortened somewhat I'd wager.

They did recover a few from target in an unrelated car search so some may turn up. I just hope the scum that have them and did this get their comeuppance.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope some innocent person doesnt get scammed trying to buy one, then lose it through no fault of his own because some bit of scum stole them.

Good luck in finding them.

How can they sell on the shotguns? I could understand someone buying the air rifles as they would not no they were pinched.

If you was to see a shot gun at a game fair or in a add unless you check with police before you buy you won't know it's stolen till the point you send off your letter to the police notifying them of a new gun.

serial numbers rubbed out and sold on to the black market... they won't find thier way back to legit shooters!

The irony is, if some scumbag criminal does a shop robbery with a 687EELL they will be using a gun thats worth more than the shops takings...!

I hope they catch them and recover all the guns before anyone gets hurt or further crimes committed.

Good luck to McAvoy guns, I've heard good things about you all but not had a chance to visit yet.

That's quite a haul! Hopefully these people get caught before the guns get into circulation and get punished accordingly.

All the best to McAvoy's too. I hope it doesn't hit them too hard. I've bought things from them in the past and have always been more than happy with the service - they're one of the best shops out there in my opinion and I wish they were more local to me.

Surly no licence holder will end up buying them because the person who sold them would have to put their details on the buyers licence and that would be beyond stupid wouldn't it, like said already they will probably be sold around the scroats for a few hundred quid each.

I would of thought that something as serious as this the police would be able to use CCTV from the local area to find the car or reg. Doesn't have to be the shops but local places nearby. Hope they catch them soon. Is the shop still open as was thinking of visiting as I've never been there but heard good things about it.

It was a Honda Civic, so I presume the Police have details of it. It will have been stolen. I can't imagine scrotes would use their own car for something as serious as this. I don't recall any street CCTV in Standish.

I think that they are still open - they have listed more guns for sale.

Well worth a visit - nice family business.

Thankyou to everybody for your kind messages,

The Silver Honda Civic that was used in the robbery was stolen from Westhoughton 2 or three days prior to the robbery . . It was then left somwehere between Atherton & Leigh for a few days after the robbery before being burnt out, unfortunately, residents nearby didn't suspect anything until it whent up in flames.

As the thieves fled the scene, they left the car boot open & one gun fell out at Standish traffic lights, the police have now returned the gun to us after forrensics, the recovered gun was A used Weihrauch HW 80 with no visible serial number.

The police are investigating further.

Thankyou to everybody again for their messages & support

Just out of interest does that mean the gang had already removed the serial number? Or you had in stock an air rifle with no serial number? Isn't that "odd"?

Hopefully they will get caught and the goods returned.

AS for selling the stolen guns I doubt they would steal them if they couldn't shift them someway somehow. Perhaps the people who bring the illegal guns in from eastern europe are looking to take some higher spec stuff back?

I bought my now much altered B25 from Mc Avoys last March and couldn't recomend them more highly for a distance purchase - they sent the gun on 14 days approval and did me a good deal.

Clearly the shop would have had a lot of money tied up in those guns - hope your busness doesn't suffer too much Shootin Star
