Rabbit tusks

Had a walk round this afternoon and tried out a new range finding phone app. I spotted a rabbit that was a bit out if my normal range so checked the distance on the phone which had it at 47 yards. Normally I wouldn't take a shot at that distance with an air rifle but as I was in open ground with no chance of getting closer, the conditions were good and I had an accurate range, I was confident I would get a clean kill.

I took the shot and it dropped on the spot with a clean head shot, so I was very pleased with the way the rangfinder worked. I sent the dog out for it and when she brought it back I noticed it had over developed bottom teeth, I've seen this once or twice before but they have always been really bad condition this one seemed pretty well fed and in good nick.

Anyway, thought I'd post a pic as I had my phone on.

The kids had a pet dwarf rabbit that I used to have to clip the teeth of because if left they would look like the rabbit in the picture.

The vet told me it was a common problem in some rabbit breeds,in normal rabbits the teeth grind together constantly keeping them short, but if the lower jaw is over extended then that is what happens as the teeth do not meet top and bottom
