labstaff
Just wondered what you folks use to clean/disinfect your kennels. I currently use a pressure wash and jayes fluid but wondered if there is anything better/more cost effective?

Albert 888
Use power washer and maybe a drop of bleach and a brush now and again.
fruity
Got to.be careful.with bleach because it can burn the pads on their feet. Beat me to it , hardly any bleach to water ratio and let the floor dry before the dogs return to the kennels just to be on the safe side imho

Albert 888
Got to.be careful.with bleach because it can burn the pads on their feet. Thanks. Only use A (drop) and the power washer clears it usually just power wash no addatives.
labstaff
Thanks for the responses, I heard of something called mistral once but I've never seen it for sale, any one know if its still available and any good? Failing that I 'll stick with the Jayes fluid.
apache
Quite commonly see dog skin reactions to Jayes fluid. Something like Trigene or Safe4 are better bets that are less irritant and better disinfectants.

MiLisCer
As someone who does this large scale!! We now use Mistral - http://mistralie.co.uk/catalogue/product/214/ODOURFRESH-PET-DISINFECTANT---Standard?gclid=CLONzrGMyq0CFVBlfAodPmy-gA I have used most of the others over the years - stopped using Trigene when I was a RAFP dog handler after several dogs were badly burnt by it. You can get it in 5 litre bottles for home use - the "flavours" actually do smell really nice - we use Baby powder and bubble gum flavours in the kennels and they smell really good. It kills all known bugs/germs and is also a cleaner too. It is safe for the dogs, ferrets, chickens, birds etc too Mike
AlistairB
Jet wash and a scrub out with Airborne deodorising disinfectant, same stuff these use in the vets, Cromessol ADD Blend B i think it's called.

WGD
I have been using the Mistral stuff for about 12 months, biggest thing for me is it's safe and gives the kennel a good freshen up.
