Well done Italy, bbut Scotland i really feel for, where do they go from here?

Well done England, 4 out 5 is a good 6 Nations, if they continue to improve next year could be interesting! Farell looks class. Ireland what happened in that scrum, it just rolled over.

6 Nations Grand Slam for Wales, well done thoroughly enjoyed the victory, but felt the performance was professional rather than exceptional.. still i'll take that :good:

However (this goes for all 6 Nations) we really need to put a marker down in or against the Southern Hemisphere now! Wales are touring Australia in the summer, but New Zealand, Australia, Samoa and Argentina are coming here in the Autumn no easy games there! :o . I presume the other nations have some summer and autumn rugby as well.

Ahh fishing season starts in just over a week, time to climb on the wagon for a week or two!

Well done to Wales on their triumph - it is always an achievement to turn over the other 5 nations to get to a Grand Slam. Not pretty on Saturday, but that doesn't matter they made France look very limited and have showed again they can play the nose in the dirt rugby when it is called for.

Its not very often i'm super defensive about England, but after the old "arrogance" card was again wheeled out by the Irish for the England coaches to slap up on the Dressing Room door, when they were destroying the Irish scrum for the first time in a number of years i'm not proud to say that i was very very smug for a short while

Dont know what happened to the Irish pack in the 2nd half but - apart from finding out that looseheads dont make good tight head props necessarily. I guess it was this dismantling that ultimately led to the collapse on other parts of the field and probably reiterates that even in the modern eral how important the basics are for scrum, lineouts and Breakdowns are.

Personally i believe that the most arrogant and head in the sand comment came from the Scots no.8 Denton when he wheeled out the should've/could've/might've card regarding all of their previous matches before their submissal in the Italy game - that was truly a disgraceful performance and at the end of the day he is personally responsible along with the rest of the Scotland team for their own fate and performances, so in answer to his should've/could've/might've comment - well you didn't so look at yourself and those around you befoere you blame "bad luck on 5 losses :P

Well thats it fo another year and the Southern Hemisphere beckons for us - Sa for England - dont think we'll be dismantling many scrums down there

Good luck as always to all the Home nations on their summer tours and lets all get it right up the SH teams if we can.

As an ex prop (sometimes hooker) I always love it when a team out scrummage the opposition. I started as loosehead in the days when a 14 1/2 stone prop was OK. Put on weight as the game progressed and eventually played both sides topping out at about 16 1/2 stone which is small nowadays. Some games if we were very dominant I used to play both loose and tight in the same game - basically following the put in to - defending our ball and attacking theirs. Always felt more comfortable at loose and must say never really felt under pressure even when playing against monster packs. I always felt that short legs enabled me to get under the tight head. Playing tighthead was a different kettle of fish. Either was dominant, really screwing the loosehead (or hooker) up or really under pressure and struggling badly. Enjoyed former not the latter.

Was selected to play for Singapore national side (well the second team!) but would have had to give up my chance of playing for England  so declined it

I know there are a lot of ex props on here. Any good stories to tell?

Hi AVB

Ex hooker here (£10 a night before any comments) who managed a couple of games as a prop towards the end of my career. Remember once one younger hooker starting to bite my ear at an early scrum told him in my campest voice "if you wait until we're naked in the shower we could both nibble each others ears" it had the desired effect! :good: (Which was not having my ear bitten and playing rugby!)
