deny essex
Any last minute advice? Just be yourself and relax, just watch for any trick questions , some like to try that just to see your response. bedwards1966
Yes, sit back, cool down and relax. So far I've found FEO's to be - people. They may be police/police civilians who decide what you can and can't have regarding guns, but they are people and are usually helpful and will help resolve any problems they find. Relax! Don't worry about it, most of the interview is spent with you listening to the advice they give, and basically just answering some really basic safety questions (i.e what do you do with a gun you find in a slip - break it and check it's empty! and safe distances etc). Catweazle
He'll just want to have a chat and get a feel for you, the sort of person you are. Don't worry about it, just be yourself, if you have good reason to own the guns you've got no problems.
Newsportshooter
BUT REMEMBER If you've got a genuine lawful reason to have the firearm then they cant refuse you a certificate unless, of course, there are mitigating circumstances (ie you have a criminal record, your a wannabe serial killer, or you like to beat the missus from time to time etc). Dont be bullied into accepting loads of restrictions just to the cert in the first place. I have no doubt they will suggest certain restrictions, such as only being allowed to shoot over cleared land, but this is just par for the course and I think it is more or less a given that your first ticket will be a closed one..... Finally, be polite, offer him a brew (tea that is) and try to have your answers ready, ie if you need a moderator then state your reasons clearly for needing one - even if you are only target shooting you could still get a mod on your ticket if you state the right reasons. He will want to see where you are going to locate your cabinate, this will be your opportunity to show him how safety and security conscious you are... Good luck Mike

njc110381
Good choice of gun and calibre I'd say. One thing I would really recommend is a Brookes/SYSS trigger kit for it. They're not at all expensive but will vastly improve the feel of it. I've done every CZ rimfire I've ever had, for a tenner or so it's daft not to.
